The wrong girl 150
At least Abraham was willing to meet them. That alone was already a good sign. The worst outcome would’ve been being completely ignored.
Alex whipped his head around, staring at Louis in disbelief.
“Mr. Abraham? You mean that Mr. Abraham from Falvaria?”
He had heard rumors that Abraham had come to Rivermount. It was huge news. Alex had wanted to meet him for a long time but had never been able to find a connection.
Someone like Abraham wasn’t someone you could just meet casually—not without real influence.
Wait… did Louis—?
Louis gave a brief nod.
Alex’s eyes lit up instantly. He leaned closer, excitement written all over his face.
“Then why are we here to see him?”
Did Louis sell the ring to Abraham?
If that were the case, Alex wouldn’t dare ask for it back. He’d just treat it as a gift and move on.
“You sold the ring to Mr. Abraham? Forget it then. I don’t want it back,” Alex said quickly.
He should’ve known earlier.
If something he wanted ended up in Abraham’s hands, that was an honor in itself.
Who am I to ask for it back?
Louis shot him a look as if he were an absolute idiot.
Alex blinked. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Louis replied flatly, “You really think he gives a damn about your little ring?”
He wouldn’t even take things people begged him to accept. And here Alex was, acting like someone had robbed him.
Alex scratched his head awkwardly. “Fair enough… then why did you bring me here?”
Louis said calmly, “His sister lost the ring.”
Alex went silent.
“…What?”
Sister?
“What sister?” Alex asked, stunned.
How the hell did things end up like this?
Just the word sister made his head spin.
“Hold on—Mr. Abraham’s sister? Who is she?”
Alex’s thoughts raced. How did my ring end up with his sister? What kind of mess did Louis get dragged into?
This was getting way too complicated.
“Stella. You know her?” Louis asked.
“Who?”
“Stella.”
Alex froze.
Stella…
Why did that name sound so familiar?
Wait—wasn’t she—
“Isn’t she the Reed family’s biological daughter?” Alex blurted out. “The one Ethan dumped?”
Louis nodded slightly.
Alex’s expression changed instantly.
If Stella really was Abraham’s sister, then everything suddenly made sense.
No wonder the Reed family had acted so cautiously lately.
No wonder Ethan had been pushed aside so cleanly.
If the Reed family had known Stella’s true background from the beginning, things wouldn’t have turned out this way.
They had treated her poorly—no, worse than poorly.
They had ignored her, belittled her, and allowed Lillian to trample all over her.
They even stripped her of her position in the Reed family without hesitation.
That wasn’t just negligence.
That was abuse.
Alex swallowed hard.
“If that’s true,” he said slowly, “then the Reed family is probably finished.”
Louis didn’t deny it.
“They’re likely trying to fix things now,” Louis said coldly. “Trying to curry favor with Mr. Abraham through Stella.”
But it was already too late.
Their resources were running dry, and the Reed family had been scrambling to find a replacement backing.
Unfortunately for them, the one person who could save them…
Was the same person they had pushed away.
They might think they still have a chance at reconciliation.
But Abraham?
Alex exhaled sharply.
“That man doesn’t forgive easily.”
Louis glanced at him.
“He’s exactly that kind of person.”
