Chapter 184
Chapter 184:
Rosa’s words echoed in my mind, causing my heart to thump loudly in anticipation. I quickened my pace, ignoring the guards and workers who greeted me. I had more pressing matters at hand.
It was time to test the truth of Rosa’s words. If Aurora was innocent, then I would have Rosa executed immediately. But if Rosa was telling the truth, I would make sure Aurora, her low-life bastard lover, and the child she carried would all suffer.
I halted in front of Aurora’s door, my heartbeat quickening with each passing moment. I wanted to open it, but at the same time, I wasn’t ready.
Opening that door meant one of two things: whatever I saw could either make or break me.
“My King, why are you acting…?” Jasper started, approaching where I stood. I quickly motioned for him to stop speaking.
I swallowed hard, closing my eyes as my hand moved to the doorknob. Chills ran down my spine from the cold metal, causing my hand to tremble.
How was Aurora able to make me feel this way? I prayed that Rosa’s words were nothing more than lies.
I tried to listen for any sounds coming from within, but there was nothing. I tried to imagine what Aurora and her lover might be doing in there, but my mind was too scattered to form any clear picture. I felt disoriented.
Soon, I began to sweat. My palms grew slick with moisture. Summoning what little courage I had left, I turned the doorknob, pushing the door open quietly to get a glimpse inside.
Confusion hit me when I saw no one in the room. Was Rosa playing games with my emotions?
Where was Aurora?

I leaned in further, straining for a better view. My heart sank into my stomach when I saw Aurora, passionately kissing Ray as if her life depended on it.
Was this a dream?
Was this just my imagination?
Was Aurora really in bed with Ray?

It felt like a bucket of ice had been thrown at me. For several moments, I was motionless, my eyes glued to the two lovers, locked in a passionate kiss, their bodies tangled together. My jaw dropped and my eyes widened in disbelief. This couldn’t be real.
My hands began to tremble, and my breath came in short, ragged gasps, a growing anger consuming me. I swallowed the bile rising in my throat, clenching my teeth to hold it back.
I was frozen in place, unable to move. All I could do was stare, my body paralyzed by shock.
As much as I tried to resist it, I felt my heart breaking. It was as though an invisible hand had seized my heart, squeezing it tightly.
I had thought the feelings we shared were mutual. I had believed that she was Ivy’s replacement. I had thought that when we kissed, I could faintly hear the word “mate” in my mind, though I had never given it much thought.
It turned out I was wrong. She wasn’t who I thought she was. She was a liar. A betrayer.
Suddenly, the air grew thick and suffocating. With every movement, every touch between them, I felt like I was drowning. It was as if I couldn’t breathe anymore, not when Ray’s lips were on her skin, not when her moans filled the room.
