Chapter 187:

Aurora

With a heavy heart, I made my way into the woods, alone, afraid, and confused. The cold bit deep into my skin, sending a wave of goosebumps across my body.

Drenched by the rain, my hair and wet clothes clung to me, and the chill seeped into my bones, making me shiver uncontrollably. I hugged my small frame tightly as I walked faster, my paranoia growing with each step. My sneezes became more violent, and my nose ran like a tap.

The wind, fierce after the downpour, made my teeth clatter. I tried rubbing my palms together, hoping for some warmth, but it was in vain.

Fearful that I was lost in the middle of nowhere, tears began to roll down my cheeks, mixing with the rainwater.

I longed for warmth. I yearned for shelter. But there was none.

Unconsciously, my hands moved to my stomach, as if shielding it from the wind’s harsh impact. My heart shattered as I remembered that I was pregnant.

Poor baby.

I felt so sorry that he was enduring all of this, even though he was still inside me. I regretted that I was the one causing his suffering. I grieved for his fate.

I wished I could turn back time. I wouldn’t have trusted Ray. I wouldn’t have drunk the mushroom soup he gave me. I wouldn’t have let him kiss me. But I had blindly accepted him, urging him on, and now, his actions had backfired on me and my unborn child.

I was a bad mother.

Explaining everything to Damon had been in vain. He didn’t want to hear a word from me. According to him, I had betrayed him, and he wasn’t the father of my child. He even accused me of conspiring with the doctor to…

I had no chance to speak to Damon after he threw me out of the castle. I had become nothing but a nuisance to him, and he didn’t want me around anymore. I didn’t even get to see Alex.

Everything happened so quickly, and I didn’t see it coming. Something wasn’t right. I had a feeling that Damon was pushed into doing what he did. Despite killing the doctor and severely injuring Ray, he didn’t lay a hand on me.

The more I questioned everything, the more my mind grew foggy. How did Rosa escape her dungeon? How did Ray become involved, and what was his reward? Why was I able to control myself after drinking the mushroom soup Ray had offered me?

After drinking the soup, I remembered falling unconscious, but when I woke up a few hours later, I wasn’t myself. There was an overwhelming feeling of euphoria that settled in me. I was excited, though I had no idea why. It was as if I was drugged, but I couldn’t be sure.

I didn’t know how long Ray stayed in my room, but eventually, he started undressing himself. Once he was completely naked, he began removing my clothes and kissed my body. My body felt heavy, and I couldn’t push him away. Soon, he started making advances, touching me in places I didn’t want him to.

My vision blurred, my head felt empty, and my words became slurred. I couldn’t fight back, I couldn’t resist. Weakness overtook me, and I lay there, motionless beneath him. I didn’t understand what was happening to me; it was as if someone had drained all of my strength.

Then, something strange happened. His face slowly morphed into Damon’s face, and I couldn’t help but enjoy his touch. I shouldn’t have, but I did. In that moment, I was nothing more than a passive observer, trapped in my own body. When I sensed Damon’s presence, I wanted to reach out to him, but my tongue was tied. I ended up mumbling incoherent words, only making things worse.
