Chapter 194
Chapter 194:
Damon
“My King.”
I heard a feminine voice call. Despite being in the same room with the person, I felt distant. My mind was lost in the woods.
For weeks, I hadn’t been myself.
As much as I didn’t want to admit it, ever since Aurora left, I lost my spark.
I lost the spark of happiness in me.
After Ivy’s death, Aurora was the only woman who had reignited that spark… but now, it was gone.
Nothing made sense anymore.
My demons grew in thousands, haunting me day and night. My nightmares were slowly becoming a reality I couldn’t escape.
My illness worsened. Dax, Devin, and Ivy were the only people I saw… but this time, I saw Aurora.
It was strange because the rest of them were dead, but Aurora wasn’t.
I was left in a state of confusion. I thought I only saw them because I loved them dearly, but what was it about Aurora?
Why was she appearing to me?
Why did I keep speaking to her imaginary figure?
My recent behavior caused unrest in Jasper. He feared I was on the brink of insanity.

“You have to take your drugs and go for therapy, Damon. An insane King can’t rule over the packs!” His words echoed in my head, causing my chest to clench.
His words felt like heavy blows, filling me with sharp pain. Jasper and I fought a few days ago about my refusal to take my medications.
To him, I needed them like the air I breathe.
But deep down, I knew I needed Aurora.
She was my medication and therapy.
Her presence was enough to bring me some semblance of sanity.
But I couldn’t tell him. I couldn’t let him know that I had feelings for Aurora.
It was unheard of for a King to have feelings for his breeder. She was my slave, my property.
Her days were numbered, and according to the law, she would be killed the day my heir was born.
If only the baby in her womb were mine.
Driven by hurt, I banished her from coming anywhere near the castle.
The day she set foot on the premises would be the day she would breathe her last.
I couldn’t handle the pain she caused me.
How could she cheat on me and deceive me about the child she was carrying, knowing full well it wasn’t mine? How could she make a fool of me after I had explained how desperately I needed an heir to keep the packs together?
What was a King without an heir?
