Chapter 295
Chapter 295:
Unknown
Satisfied, Ray staggered out of Rosa’s room in the middle of the night. His hands quickly flew to his mouth in an attempt to stifle the hiccup that escaped, but it was too late. The sound echoed softly in the quiet night. Using his wolf’s vision, his eyes darted around, scanning for any oncoming passersby. Relieved to find none, he continued his escape.
Tiptoeing as quietly as a mouse, he made his way out of the premises, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn’t risk being caught. A faint smile curled on his lips as the cold night air hit his face, sending a tingling sensation through his body. For a moment, he was overwhelmed by the memory of spending the night with Rosa. But he quickly pushed the thought aside, weighing the consequences.
Rosa was cunning, capable of erasing any evidence that might link him to her. Besides, he had been with her since the early hours of the morning. She had drained him completely, leaving him with nothing more to give. Today had been the best day of his life, seeing Rosa reduced to nothing before him. He felt in control. He felt powerful.
He hadn’t walked far when the fabric of his jeans brushed harshly against his sensitive groin. Shutting his eyes tightly, he winced in pain, stopping in his tracks as his jaw clenched. Slowly releasing his breath, he swallowed the sharp sting of pain before fluttering his eyes open. Thanks to Rosa, his body bore the marks of their encounter. But that wouldn’t stop him. Once he recovered, he would return to her, day after day, until she was utterly spent, like a used tissue. Then, he would report her to the Kings and watch as she met her gruesome end.
Sniffling through a painful smile, Ray gripped his resolve tightly, swallowing down the bitterness that rose in his throat. He would endure. He would prevail.
The sound of hiccups echoed through the air, but he remained unbothered.

With one hand pressed against the wall for balance and the other gripping his whiskey tightly, Ray staggered forward, disappearing into the darkness.
Then, a voice clearing its throat cut through the silence.
He froze.
Straightening, his unfocused eyes lifted to meet the last person he ever expected to see.
Aurora.
A cold wave of fear surged through him, but he swallowed it down, forcing himself to remain still.
His brows furrowed as his thoughts scrambled, words failing him.
The air between them thickened with tension, a heavy silence stretching between them.
The only sound that filled the hallway was the erratic pounding of his heart.
The scent of his fear betrayed him as Aurora took slow, deliberate steps toward him.
His hands trembled.
His grip weakened.
The whiskey glass slipped from his fingers, crashing to the ground.
The sharp shatter of glass filled the air, followed by his unsteady breathing.
Ray clenched his fists, struggling to regain composure, but it was useless.
Suddenly, light flooded the dim corridor as Aurora snapped her fingers, illuminating the space instantly.
Blinded by the sudden brightness, Ray squinted, shielding his face with his palm until his vision adjusted.
“Unfortunately for you,” Aurora finally broke the silence, her voice dripping with amusement, “we meet again.”
