Chapter 330
Chapter 330:
Ray froze, his body pressed against the wall as his mind raced, anticipating a strike from Silas or his guards. He knew better than to answer the rhetorical question.
“They end up like Rosa,” Silas continued, his voice colder now. “A walking corpse. But don’t worry, I’ll make her death quick. Her days are already numbered.”
His words carried no trace of remorse, and the coldness in his tone sent a chill down Ray’s spine.
A flick of Silas’ fingers sent his guards into action. They handed him a tobacco and a lighter with a dragon head before returning to their positions, standing motionless behind him, their eyes scanning the environment for any signs of trouble.
“But why do you want Rosa dead? Isn’t she your niece?” Ray couldn’t help but ask, his curiosity getting the best of him.
Instantly regretting his words, he placed his palm over his lips and bowed his head in fear. “I’m sorry for prying,” he quickly added, biting his lip in regret. His jaw clenched tightly as he braced himself for the worst. “…Boss,” he finished. His heart thundered in his chest as he shut his eyes, waiting for the inevitable punishment.
“I was supposed to chop your tongue off, but for some reason, I’ll leave you with a warning,” Silas said, his voice icy. “Don’t ask questions that aren’t related to your assignment or mission. Am I clear?”
“Yes, boss,” Ray replied quickly, bowing his head. His face brightened with relief. At least he was still alive. That was all that mattered.
“You should know,” Silas continued, his tone growing colder. “It’s important that you understand why I want her dead.”
Ray’s eyes widened with curiosity, his full attention now on Silas.
“She is a murderer, a two-time liar and a cunning bitch. She wants to eat her cake and have it too, which is impossible. She is a betrayer who never keeps her promises. She killed the former Luna, knowing she was pregnant, simply because she wanted the position so badly. If she could kill her best friend in cold blood without mercy, she could do worse to you,” Silas said, his words laced with cold fury.

The impact of his words sent a shiver down Ray’s spine. The more he processed them, the stronger his hatred for Rosa became. It was like an unquenchable inferno, spreading wildly inside him.
His eyes nearly widened in surprise, but Silas’ deadly glare quickly snapped him out of it.
“Don’t even try to act surprised. I know you’re aware that she killed Ivy. I hate pretenders, so don’t become one,” Silas warned, his expression now dangerously cold.
“Sorry, Boss,” Ray stammered, bowing deeply. He let out a sigh of relief, his body relaxing a little.
That was close.
“I want Rosa dead as soon as possible, and I want a perfect job done without a trace. You better not reveal a word about this or give away my identity if you get caught,” Silas warned, pointing his index finger at Ray before letting out a deep growl. Ray almost peed his pants when Silas’ eyes flashed red for a split second.
“I will not disappoint you, Boss,” Ray answered, swallowing the fear that lodged in his throat.
“You better not, or you’ll be sorry.”
