Chapter 332
Chapter 332:
Fear consumed him, and it didn’t take long before beads of sweat began trickling down from his forehead to his bedsheets, soiling them.
He was in deep trouble.
He couldn’t refuse the offer, yet he found it hard to accept it.
It felt as if a gigantic burden had been placed upon his fragile shoulders, weighing him down.
He wanted to run, but Silas’ threat kept echoing in his head, warning him to be careful with his choices.
Tears gathered in Ray’s eyes as reality slowly began to set in.
He was all the bad things anyone could think of, but not a cold-blooded murderer. He wasn’t a monster like Rosa and her uncle. He regretted accepting the deal with Rosa. His wretched life had been better and more peaceful than what he was now facing. Fuck.
There was no going back, even if it didn’t sit well with him to take another life. Brushing his regrets aside, he began to accommodate the idea. Delving deeper into wild thoughts, his survival instincts kicked in. It was either the mistress died, or he did.
“The evil mistress must go down,” he concluded, bracing himself for the mission ahead.
Meanwhile, she wasn’t a saint.
After much deliberation, Ray grabbed a piece of paper, spreading it out before dropping a whitish substance onto it. When he was done, he carefully folded it and placed it on the table, before securing the substance in his safe.
“The evil mistress must go down!”
Unknown
Tucking the paper carefully into his back pocket, he muttered a few words that fueled his determination. He grabbed his black leather jacket and opened the door.

He shut the door quietly, slipping the key into the lock as he secured it. Satisfied that his space was safe, he donned his jacket and walked briskly down the lonely, overgrown path.
Despite being engrossed in his mission, the corner of his eye caught the swift movement of a shadowy figure. Torn between two options, he slowed his pace. Should he investigate, or press on?
He was set on the latter, but curiosity got the better of him. He could have sworn he caught a familiar faint scent lingering in the grass and glimpsed the figure of a person wearing a dark cloak.
Though the scent was weak, it sparked a memory in his mind.
Anxiety crept into his soul as he stopped. He could feel a pair of eager eyes watching him. His breath grew shallow as goosebumps spread across his skin when he caught a glimpse of the strange figure from the corner of his eye. But before he could stop to take a closer look, the figure vanished, like dust in the wind.
Strange feelings stirred in the pit of his stomach, and creepy thoughts flooded his mind. His brow furrowed, and his heart began to race.
It didn’t take long for the “What if” thoughts to crowd his mind, making his anxiety surge. There was something about the scent that tugged at his memory.
What if?
“Nah, it can’t be her,” he scoffed, brushing the thought aside as his eyes narrowed.
