Chapter 341:

It felt like a knife coated with salt had been driven into my heart, making it bleed.

No words could adequately describe how I felt these past weeks. For the first time in my life, I was heartbroken.

It was as if my heart had been ripped into pieces.

Advice from my brothers came from all directions, but none of it worked. It was all a waste of time.

Aurora’s heart was as hardened as a rock.

Despite not being the type to apologize, I set aside my pride as a king, kneeling with teary eyes on a moonless night. But she was determined to make me suffer.

It was safe to say I was living through my personal hell.

Aurora was making me endure the same pain she had gone through. But I would wait.

I didn’t care how long it took—I would wait for her love. I would fight tooth and nail for it.

Once again, I knocked on her door, expecting no response as usual. But to my surprise, the door flew open, and Aurora walked out without even glancing in my direction. She smelled like fresh water, as if she had just bathed.

I could taste her sadness on the tip of my tongue, and my heart sank deep into the pit of my stomach.

My eyes lit up with excitement when she sniffed the air, sensing the flower I was holding coming into view.

But my happiness was short-lived as she brushed past me, pretending I didn’t exist once again.

The swell of joy in my chest deflated, leaving me feeling hollow.

Aurora hadn’t forgiven me.

“Good morning, my love,” I greeted, hoping to catch her attention as I walked up to her.

I almost rolled my eyes at how quickly she was walking to distance herself from me.

“I thought it’d be nice to decorate your room with some fresh flowers,” I said, half-running to catch up and extending the flowers toward her.

As usual, I was ignored, and she proceeded toward the kitchen.

But I wouldn’t give up.

I followed closely, my mind disorganized, preparing to assist her. I didn’t want to lose the precious opportunity to be by her side.

I didn’t mind doing the talking. I wanted to be with her all day.

“Are you hungry? Would you like me to fix breakfast? You know my culinary skills are insane,” I said, trying to brag, hoping to lighten the tension in the air.

The smile on my face slowly faded as I watched her make a sandwich and pour herself a cup of coffee. She occasionally growled when my hands brushed against her body.

She used to crave my touch.

But now, it felt like my hands were made of sandpaper.

“Or maybe not,” I muttered, pulling my hands back and standing there, not knowing what to do.

“I miss you, babe. I miss us,” I whispered, my voice cracking. Tears stung my eyes as I chewed on my bottom lip.

“I know I fucked up big time, and I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but please, I’m begging you. It’s hard, and I took something vital from you, I get it, but… I want us back. I’m ready to do whatever you need me to do.”
