Chapter 116

Nurses and Rose rushed in.

"What happened to him?"

"He's had a shock. Get the doctor, now!"

Within seconds, a medical team burst in and started emergency treatment.

"It's his heart. We need to get him to surgery now!"

They wheeled Mr. Anderson away on a stretcher, leaving Lucie standing there, her heart breaking.

She'd agonized for so long about telling him the truth. She'd finally worked up the courage, and now this happened. Maybe she should have kept it from him. But if she had, and something happened to her, Grandpa would have left everything to Cody. And Cody wasn't even family. He was the son of her husband and his mistress. Lucie would rather give it all to charity than let her enemy's child inherit a cent.

Rose shot her a worried look. "Miss, your grandfather's heart isn't strong. You can't tell him too much at once."

Lucie didn't answer. Tears streamed down her face as she silently begged for her grandfather to pull through.

This was it. There was no going back. She had to divorce Steven, no matter what. The court had refused her first petition, forcing her to wait six months before trying again for the same reason. So she needed a new reason.

Steven was keeping another woman abroad. Lucie would get enough proof to sue him for bigamy this time. With evidence, there was no way she'd lose.

"I need to make a call," she said.

"Miss, you're still not fully recovered. Let me help you."

"No, I've got it."

Lucie took her phone into the bathroom and called her best friend, Mira. If anyone could help, it was her-Mira knew everyone, including a few trusted private investigators Lucre asked her to find the best one and get them to Switzerland right away to dig up proof of Steven's cheating.

Twenty minutes later, Lucie stepped out of the bathroom, weighed down by everything on her mind. If things went as planned, shed soon have what she needed this time she'd end her marriage, no matter what.

Meanwhile, Shannon slipped quietly back into New Amberton.

She'd only lasted a little over a week. in America. The work environment was awful, and on top of that, someone was blackmailing her. came back home feeling anxious and on edge.

At Rosewood Manor, her phone buzzed.

Shannon jumped, heart pounding, and picked it up.

A week ago, she'd gotten a nude photo from an unknown number. It was her, from

that night in the changing room by the pool with the bodyguard.

Her hands shook as she checked her messages. The same number had sent a video this time.

"Having fun, you little slut? Listen to yourself. No wonder Mr. Heath likes you so much. You're impossible to resist."

In the video, she looked completely lost in the moment, clinging to the bodyguard. He was rough and wild, and he hadn't just slept with her. He'd filmed it too.

"Ah-"

Shannon threw her phone across the room before the video could finish. She felt like her whole world was spinning. She couldn't accept that the girl in that video was really her.
