Chapter 325
Lucie's head snapped up, her eyes burning with anger. "Steven, did you do this on purpose?"
"Why would I do that?"
Steven spread his hands, acting all innocent. "The repair guy said the motherboard was water damaged. It had to be wiped or it wouldn't turn on. I was just trying to help and took it in for you."
"You're still making excuses?" Lucie clenched her phone so tight she thought she might break it. She wanted to throw it at his head.
Steven's ridiculously handsome face twisted into a sly smirk. "Why do you always assume the worst of me?"
He knew exactly what he was doing. Of course he did. She never should have let things get so tangled with Elio.
"There were client contracts on that phone, backups for Tang's core data, tons of important files, and..." She took a shaky breath and forced herself to stop.
"And what?" Steven pressed.
“The contracts and files—your assistant can send them again. And Tang's data, you must have more backups, right?"
"If it's really a problem, I can have someone recover it for you. We'll get it back." "Don't bother." Lucie let out a cold laugh and hurled the phone onto the sofa. It hit the cushions with a heavy thud.
She knew what his so-called "recovery" meant-another excuse to spy on her. If he wanted, he could watch everything she did and see everyone she talked to.
"Why are you so mad? You'll make yourself sick," Steven said, as if he actually cared.
Lucie was shaking from head to toe. She lost it, swung at him, and smacked his chest with both fists. "Steven, you did this on purpose."
"Just admit it. What did you say to Elio?"
Steven's expression darkened, the act disappearing. He grabbed her wrists and pulled her close, trapping her. "You want the truth? Fine. I did it on purpose."
Lucie felt her heart slam against her ribs. "What did you say to him?"
His eyes turned stormy, jealousy all over his face. "Why do you care so much about Elio?"
Lucie glared at him, her anger flaring even hotter. "Who I care about has nothing to do with you. Tell me what you said to him!"
"Does it matter?" Steven's arms tightened around her, his breath hot on her neck, heavy with possessiveness. “What matters is you're mine now. You're carrying my child. You should stay away from other men."
Lucie let out a harsh laugh. "Steven, get over yourself! Who's yours? We're done. Over."
She tried to wriggle free, but he wouldn't let go. Desperate, she jerked her head back and slammed it right into his jaw.
"Let go of me!"
Steven grunted in pain but only held her tighter. "Over? Then what's the baby in your belly? Lucie, stop lying to yourself."
He stared down at her, jealousy and anger swirling in his eyes. "You're so generous, arent you? Just handing over an antique worth billions like it's nothing."
"You like throwing yourself at men? Why not throw yourself at me?"
Lucie's anger boiled over. "You're insane! Let go of me!"
Steven's patience snapped. He locked his arms around her. "No."
"Our kid is seriously ill, barely hanging on, and you're still out there flirting with some other guy."
Lucie's eyes filled with angry tears. "That's your kid with someone else, not mine." "Say that again."
"That's your kid with another woman—” Her words cut off with a gasp.
Steven crushed his mouth to hers, kissing her hard enough to steal her breath.
"Mmph-Steven, you bastard-" She bit him, tasting blood.
"Let me go!"
Suddenly, he lifted her, carried her to the bed, and pinned her down.
Her heart pounded in panic. "You jerk, don't touch me."
Steven's kiss was wild and desperate, claiming her breath, her space everything. The pain in his jaw and the taste of blood only made his eyes darker, more
possessive.
"Lucie, don't forget this." His voice was rough as he bit her lip. "You're my woman.
Don't even think about running away."
"There's only one man you should love, and that's me."
"No... stop...” Lucie fought back, shoving and kicking, but he was too strong,
pressing her down like a weight she couldn't move.
She heard her shirt rip.
"Lucie, I've done everything for Don't you get how I feel?" Steven was losing control, wanting nothing more than to possess her, to see her resistance fall apart.
"No... please don't..."
A sharp pain twisted in her lower belly and fear shot through her.
"Steven! Are you out of your mind? I'm pregnant!"
She screamed, her eyes wild and red. "Do you want to hurt this baby too?"
Her words hit him like a bucket of ice water. He froze, staring at her in shock, but still wouldn't move off her.
His chest heaved as he looked at the angry red marks he'd left on her neck, regret flickering in his eyes.
