In the living room, Jessica was sitting on the couch and replying to Zane’s messages. Hearing movement, she turned to see Anneliese coming out with her head lowered.
Jessica was going to ask how Nishay was, but she noticed Anneliese immediately headed toward the resting room of Maisie and the others. She asked Maisie to check on Nishay again and immediately went to the master bedroom before Maisie could say anything.
Sensing something wrong, Jessica hurried after her.
However, Anneliese wasn’t in the room.
After searching around, Jessica knocked on the locked bathroom door.
“Annie? Are you in there?”
A moment later, Anneliese’s voice came through the door.
“Yes. I’m fine.”
“Do you want me to come in and keep you comp…”
Before she finished her words, Anneliese’s voice sounded again.
“I’m really fine.”
Then, the sound of running water followed.
Everything seemed normal, but Jessica still felt uneasy. She said nothing more and left the master bedroom.
Instead of returning to the living room, she went straight to the study room.
