At Riverview Court, Jessica had decided to leave in a hurry, so there were a lot of things to pack.

She pushed Jessica back onto the couch, stuffed a pillow into her arms, and walked toward the kitchen.

But when she opened the fridge, she found it completely empty. There were only two sad-looking bottles of mineral water in the corner.

That was when she remembered. A few days earlier, both Nishay and Jessica had been hospitalized at the same time, so no one had restocked any food.
