The Amazing son in law Chapter 1245
Upon hearing that the estimated value of two cars totaled nearly one hundred million dollars, Lady Wilson couldn’t suppress a shudder.
Two cars worth that much? It was unbelievable! The combined value of these vehicles was comparable to a luxurious first-class villa at Thompson First.
Lady Wilson had always thought it was impressive to spend three million dollars on a car, but now it dawned on her that Charlie’s car must be worth more than thirty of the ones she had purchased.
This realization left her feeling extremely uneasy.
She had initially set out to humiliate others but ended up being the one embarrassed.
The question nagged at her: would anyone truly spend that kind of money on an extravagant car? Was he out of his mind?
Only a vehicle made of pure gold could possibly justify that price, right?
Frustration simmered within Lady Wilson. Harold, noticing her agitation, quickly ushered her back to the Bentley to avoid further confrontation.
Meanwhile, Elaine, who was observing from the balcony, couldn’t resist a sneer. “Oh, Lady! What happened to your arrogance? Are you still convinced that having a Bentley makes you special?”
With her back turned to Elaine, Lady Wilson felt a wave of anxiety wash over her.
She sensed the ridicule and scorn directed at her without even having to look.
She had instigated others but ended up giving them the chance to strike back.
If only she had known how this would unfold, she would have steered clear of them entirely.
Why did she have to invite such misfortune upon herself?
To make matters worse, Elaine had once again cast a shadow over her spirits for no good reason.
Lady Wilson had originally planned to return home to shake off her bad luck, but now Elaine had doused her hopes yet again.
This time, both Lady Wilson and Harold felt utterly deflated and embarrassed.
On a normal day, Harold would have engaged Elaine in a heated argument, but this time he found himself without the face to continue.
In a flurry, he jumped into the driver’s seat and sped away.
Inside the car, Lady Wilson was fuming. She came with high hopes, only to leave feeling disheartened.
Christopher, sitting in the passenger seat, shared her gloom. “Elaine is truly wicked! She always mocks me over the situation with Hannah. After today, I dread to think of how she’ll humiliate us next!”
Lady Wilson felt equally upset. Donald had tasked them with ensuring that Charlie and his family felt uncomfortable because of their actions. Yet, she never anticipated that Charlie and his family would outsmart them since moving into the villa at Thompson First. The incident with the dumplings and the daffodils had nearly cost her dearly!
Wendy sighed softly, “Grandma, if we keep failing against Charlie and his family, do you think Mr. Webb will lose faith in us and evict us from the villa?”
“Exactly, Grandma!” Harold chimed in quickly. “This villa isn’t even ours. Plus, Mr. Webb invested in the Wilson Group with the stipulation that he could demand his money back whenever he wanted. If we can’t repay him, he could sue us and seize all our assets, leaving us bankrupt once again.” This text is hosted at Find✶Novel.net
Lady Wilson nodded thoughtfully.
She understood her grandchildren’s concerns. If she couldn’t support Donald time after time, he might very well decide to abandon her.
Determined, Lady Wilson clenched her teeth and declared, “We need to find a way to break Charlie’s spirit as soon as possible.”
Christopher asked, “Mom, do you have any ideas?”
