The Amazing son in law Chapter 519
Lady Wilson was engulfed in utter despair.
She couldn’t bear the thought of losing the legacy she had tirelessly built over her entire life.
This villa was her sole possession in Aurous Hill.
If they went bankrupt, the villa would surely be seized, leaving her, her son, and his family homeless.
Suddenly, a thought struck her: Christopher must have some savings. She swiftly asked, “Chris, how much money do you have right now?”
Christopher felt a rush of panic. He responded, “Mom, I only have a few million…”
“A few million? Why is it so little?” Lady Wilson frowned, clearly disappointed. “Kenneth gave Wendy five million. Over the years, you’ve lived here with minimal expenses, plus you even receive a salary from the Wilson Group! Where has all your money gone?” Nᴇw ɴovel chaptᴇrs are published on fιɴdnοvel.net
Christopher’s expression turned grim. “Mom, I don’t have any savings! Yes, my living costs are low because I live with you, but I still have to support Harold, Wendy, and Hannah. I tend to spend quite a bit, so I haven’t saved much.”
“In that case, invest whatever you have into the company right now. It might buy us some time. After that, I’ll look for additional investments,” she insisted.
“Mom! I… I’ve put all my money in fixed deposit accounts… I can’t access them right now!”
“Oh, just stop it!” Lady Wilson shouted. “Do you think I don’t see through your selfish thoughts? You want to keep that money all to yourself, don’t you?”
Christopher fell silent, feeling awkward.
“Have you heard the saying, ‘When the nest is overturned, no eggs remain unbroken’? If the Wilson family falls apart, do you really think you’ll be okay?”
Christopher nodded vigorously, “Yes, Mom, you’re right… but the money is truly locked in those accounts right now.”
“So what?” Lady Wilson retorted, “Do you think I’m not aware of banking procedures? You can withdraw the money before the maturity date; you’ll just lose the interest. Is that what you’re worried about at a critical time like this? I’m giving you one day to take out all your money and transfer it to the company account. Then, I’ll contact our creditors to see if we can set up an installment plan for the payments. This could give us a year or two to get back on our feet!”
In recent years, it had become increasingly difficult for creditors to collect debts. Therefore, if a debtor was polite and proposed a clear repayment plan, most creditors were likely to agree, especially if they received some payment upfront.
Lady Wilson intended to use Christopher’s funds to appease the creditors and buy herself some time to address the debts. Otherwise, the villa would be seized next month!
Christopher felt extremely reluctant to comply with his mother’s demands.
He understood that the Wilson Group was a financial black hole now, and he didn’t want to throw his money away. Nevertheless, he nodded in response to his mother’s intense insistence, saying, “Okay, Mom. Don’t worry, Hannah and I will go to the bank later and transfer the money to the company’s account!”
Lady Wilson felt a slight sense of relief at his words. “I assume you have at least ten million in cash, right? Transfer eight million first, and we’ll see how things unfold.”
Christopher cursed under his breath, thinking, ‘Damn, she’s so greedy! How can she expect eight million when she assumes I have ten? I don’t want to give her a single penny!’
He masked his true feelings with a nod while secretly signaling Hannah with a wink. “Alright then, Mom. I’ll head out with Hannah to take care of this; you just stay home and wait for our good news.”
Lady Wilson nodded in satisfaction. “Good. Now go!”
Once outside, Christopher dragged Hannah along. She exclaimed, “What on earth, are you out of your mind?! How could you agree to her outrageous request? Do you really want to give her eight million? We only have fifteen million total!”
