“Exactly!” chimed in Aaron, snorting dismissively. “Jacob, weren’t you quite the hotshot back in the day? You were a rich second-generation kid in school. If you’re so capable, why not just rent a room at the Glorious Club yourself? Are you really planning to let my son-in-law treat you to food and drinks for free?”

The other classmates were taken aback by Aaron and his son-in-law’s sudden attack on Jacob and Charlie, especially given the harsh words being hurled at them in front of everyone. Without my son-in-law, would you even have the chance to step into the Glorious Club? No! So even if you try to pay, you’re not coming in with us tonight!”

Jacob clenched his teeth and said, “Aaron! You’re really crossing the line!”

Aaron nodded proudly, “Yes, I’m definitely crossing the line. I’m doing this on purpose, but what’s wrong with that? Who told you to challenge me back in school? Who else can you blame for being worse off than me now?”

Continuing, Aaron added, “Just look at yourself. You’re in your fifties and still so pathetic. You don’t have a job, and there’s no retirement fund in sight. I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up as a beggar on the street. When that day comes, our classmates might have to hold a crowdfunding campaign just to help you!”

Jacob shook with rage as he turned to Charlie, “Let’s go! I don’t want to deal with this lunatic any longer!”

Charlie smiled and said, “What’s the hurry, Dad? The show hasn’t even started yet. It’s not too late to leave after we see what unfolds!”

Aaron glared at Charlie, “You’re still waiting for a show? Let me be clear, there’s absolutely no way you two are joining us on the eighth floor today! If you try to sneak in under my son-in-law’s name, I’ll have security toss you out!”
