Listen to me 131
Benedict
Bliss. There is no other word for what it felt like to be inside Sloane, to have her give herself to me, to share something this special with her, than bliss.
Hearing her scream my name as she came, I was barely able to pull out in time. All I wanted was to stay buried inside her, emptying myself inside her, sinking my canines into her neck and making her mine.
Marrok is very clear in my head. Sloane and Aisling are ours. He will never tolerate another she–wolf in our lives or in my bed. Fine with me. As tentative as Sloane was, this being her first time, she was still very passionate.
The look on her face as I slowly slid inside her, trying to ensure that her first time was unforgettable, that I am unforgettable to her, is etched in my mind. I already knew that I was in love with Sloane, but that look, that vulnerability that she showed me, a vulnerability that she never shows to anyone, made me feel more possessive of her than I’ve ever felt in my life.
I collapse beside her on the grass, lifting myself onto my elbow and tugging her against me.
“That was so fucking fantastic, Sloane,” I say, nuzzling her cheek and nibbling on her ear.
“You don’t have to lie to me, Benedict. I know I didn’t know what I was doing. I’m sure you’ve been with others who were much better than I was,” she says.
Marrok growls angrily and I don’t stop him. Instead, I pull my head up to look at her.
“Don’t you dare fucking ruin what was one of the most amazing moments of my life, Sloane.”
I watch her eyes go wide in surprise.
“Maybe it wasn’t as good for you as it was for me, but that was fucking incredible.”
“I… I don’t have anything to compare it to,” she stammers.
“Then trust me, it was amazing. Unless you think it wasn’t,” I say, challenging her.
Fuck, if she thinks I suck as a sex partner, I’ll do whatever it takes to make her come so hard that no one will ever make her come more or harder than I do. I have no intention of ever letting any other man touch her, so I need to be the best possible lover she’ll ever have.
“I didn’t mean that YOU weren’t amazing, Benedict. You were incredible. I just meant that… being with someone who didn’t know what they were doing, you were probably disappointed.”
I narrow my eyes at her. “Does this,” I say, gesturing at the biggest fucking load of cum that I’ve ever produced in my life and is currently splashed on her body, “look like I was disappointed?”
She opens and closes her mouth, not answering.

“You know what?” I say, looking at her fucking fantastic body. “You’re right. We should just get rid of this,” I say, before I begin to rub my cum into her body.
“Benedict! What are you doing?”
“I’m making sure you smell like me for the next few days, Sloane,” I say, rubbing my cum over her breasts and chest before she can grab my hand to stop me.
“I’m sorry, if you think that I was disappointed, perhaps my scent all over you will let others know that I was in no way disappointed.”
“My uncle will smell you on me,” she whisper yells.
“Yes, he will,” I say unapologetically.
“Everyone at your Alpha ceremony will smell you on me,” she growls.
“Yes, they will.”
“Do you know what they’ll think, Benedict?” she growls. “They’ll think I’m your whore.”
I snarl and pin her hand to the ground. “Tell me, Sloane, since you seem to notice more than anyone I’ve ever met before. How many of our classmates have you ever smelled my scent on?”
“None, or none who weren’t your pack members,” she says, as if she’s proving me wrong.
I lean forward, putting my nose against hers. “That’s right. You already know that this wasn’t MY first time, Sloane. And if that’s true, then why haven’t you ever smelled my scent on another she–wolf?”
I wait while she tries to come up with an answer, her mouth opening and closing, before she frowns and looks
at me.
“Figured it out?” I growl. “No? I wasn’t claiming any of THEM, Sloane. I want the world to know that you’re with me, that I’ve had you, and that you’re mine. The others before you, they mean nothing. I meant it when I said this was one of the most incredible moments of my life and I’m really pissed that you’re ruining it for me,” I growl, sitting up.
“Benedict …” she says, sounding terrified.
“What Sloane?” I growl. “Are you going to tell me that I’m a terrible as a lover,” I snarl, grabbing my shorts and pulling them on quickly.
“I’m sorry,” she says, her voice quiet and childlike.
I close my eyes and take a couple of deep breaths. “Why are you sorry?”
“I’m sorry for ruining this for you. I wanted my first time to be special and you made it special. I don’t want it to be a terrible experience for you,” she says, sounding small.
“I told you it was one of the best moments of my life and just like every time I tell you something positive that involves you, you deny it.” I turn and look at her. “It’s one thing for you not to believe in yourself, Sloane.

It’s quite another for you not to believe in me. I’ve never, EVER, given you a reason to doubt me.”
“I know. You’re right.”

“Get dressed. We have dinner reservations,” I say, walking away. I need space so I don’t say or do something that I’ll regret
1 grab my clothes and once Sloane is dressed, I begin picking up the blanket, laptop, and other things I brought for us to get ready for tomorrow.
We walk back to the car and Sloane is quiet the entire way. When we get to the car, I put the things in the trunk and when I get in, she’s already strapped into the passenger seat.
“Just take me home, Benedict.”
I grit my teeth. Part of me wants to argue with her, but another part of me knows that I’m feeling too raw right now to feel anything other than anger that she made what happened tonight feel so cheap.
So, rather than fight or argue, I turn the car toward her pack. We drive in silence and when we get to Alpha Roman’s guard gate, I’m even more angry because I can smell the salt of her tears that she’s silently crying.
Rather than turn into the pack, I drive farther on.
“Where are you going?” she asks, her voice rough.
I don’t answer. I keep driving until there’s a turnoff. I pull off the road and turn off the car, looking at her.
“Look at me, Sloane.”
She shakes her head, refusing to look at me.
I slam my hand on the dashboard.
“I was inside your body less than two hours ago. Turn around and look at me,” I growl.
When she finally turns around, she looks so vulnerable that all I want to do is take her in my arms and hold her.
“Why are you crying?” I ask, feeling as raw as she looks.
“I ruined everything. I always ruin everything.”
“No, you don’t. What you do is underestimate yourself and now you’ve underestimated me. It pisses me off,” I snarl. “But I also understand why you do it. You feel like you’re being punished for the sins of your mother. But you are your own person, Sloane. I shouldn’t have to fight harder to show you what a wonderful person you are, than you fight for yourself. That’s what infuriates me. I wouldn’t have wasted my time on you if I didn’t think you were worth it. You aren’t foolish enough to think that I don’t have other options. I’m sure you know that women throw themselves at me all day, every day. I don’t care about them. Trust me, you’re a LOT of work, Sloane. If I didn’t think you were worth it, I wouldn’t be here. So stop making me feel like I’m using you. I’m not. I like being with you. I like how intelligent you are. I like how much you challenge me. I pretty much like everything about you, Sloane. So stop telling me I don’t.”
I look at her, brushing a tear that escapes from her eye away.
“I pretty much like everything about you too, Benedict,” she says.
I sigh, leaning my head against the seat back. “Can we agree to just accept that we both like each other, that we both think the other person is amazing,” I say, making her snort, but I continue. “Agree that we’re both here because we enjoy being with the other person?”
“I can agree to that,” she says.
I look at her. “Stop telling me what YOU think I feel for you and listen to what I tell you I’m feeling for you,” I
say.
She nods and I slide my hand into her hair, leaning in for a kiss. She tilts her head and when I don’t take her mouth in the passionate kiss that I always do, I feel her body tense.
“If you want to kiss me, Sloane, you’re going to have to show me just how much you want it. If you want to kiss me, kiss me like you mean it.”
She looks at me, searching my eyes for something that I’m not sure she wants to find. Finally, she leans in and presses her lips to mine in a tentative kiss.
I force myself to let her take the lead, let her decide how deep the kiss will be.
I smile when I feel her frustration and it’s only a few moments later when she finally begins kissing me in a
my life. kiss more possessive than I’ve never felt in
