Chapter 1122

Shattered Illusions: Love, Lies, and Redemption · Lizetta

"Go see what all that noise is about outside," Remington ordered again. Only then did Cedric realize that the hallway was indeed quite loud.

He quickly acknowledged the order, turned, and pushed the door open.

Striding to the end of the corridor, Cedric realized it was none other than Stella West.

Stella was holding Ron in her arms, followed by a nanny carrying a pile of gifts.

They were being blocked by the bodyguards, but Stella seemed entirely unwilling to take no for an answer, looking determined to force her way in with the baby.

Cedric approached, and as soon as Stella saw him, she spoke with frantic urgency. "Mr. Cedric, I heard Lizetta still hasn't woken up. Doesn't she adore my little Ron? I brought him here to see her. Maybe if she hears him crying, she'll wake up."

Ron had previously been staying at Oakridge Heights.

The original plan was for Lizetta and Remington to watch him for a few days, but then Lizetta's accident happened.

With Remington keeping a constant vigil at the hospital, Stella had taken Ron back to the West estate.

Fortunately, Stella had also taken along the reliable nanny Remington had hired specifically for Ron.

The nanny was excellent; Ron's little face was distinctly chubbier and much rosier than before.

As if understanding Stella's words and knowing Lizetta was inside, Ron squirmed in her arms, reaching his chubby little hands toward Cedric.

"Yah! Ah!"

Ron babbled and waved his arms, seemingly begging Cedric to take him to Lizetta.

The baby was impossibly cute, flashing a wide, toothless grin at Cedric.

Finding it hard to refuse, Cedric reached out to tickle Ron playfully before turning back to Stella.

"Ms. West please go back. Mr. Dashiell gave strict orders that no one is allowed inside, He's in a terrible mood, and strongly advise

not to cross him right now."

Hearing the heavy tone in Cedric's voice, Stella was secretly ecstatic.

She genuinely hadn't expected Lizetta to meet such a fatal disaster.

Although Remington had locked down the news, the commotion had been massive, and the West family had still managed to catch wind of it.

Stella had known for two days that Lizetta was in critical condition and undergoing emergency treatments at the hospital.

She had wanted to come immediately to snoop for details, but Martin West had ordered her to hold back.

Martin said that if Lizetta really died, she would have plenty of opportunities in the future. There was no need to stir up Remington's suspicions now.

Martin made sense, so Stella had stayed away for the past two days.

But it had been days since the accident, and by today, Stella simply couldn't hold it in any longer.

Suppressing her twisted excitement, she forced her eyes to redden and pleaded.

"Mr. Cedric, look how much Ron

wants to see Lizetta. The sound of

baby's ery might really help her

Pleasë, just ask Remington, break well, I promise."

Cedric looked torn. Seeing his hesitation, Stella secretly pinched the soft flesh on

the side of Ron's leg.

Feeling the sting, Ron instantly burst into wails.

The teary-eyed baby looked absolutely pitiful. Cedric's resolve softened, and he nodded at Stella.

"Wait here, Ms. West. I'll ask the boss."

A surge of joy washed over Stella as she watched Cedric turn and disappear down the hallway.

In her mind, she was already

picturing the scene: Lizetta lying lifeless on a hospital bed while she took the opportunity to hold a grieving Remington in her arms, comforting him. It was a thrilling vindicating fantasy.
