Chapter 1154
She attempted to pull her lips into a polite smile, but failed miserably.
"You are a prime suspect in multiple homicide investigations. You are under arrest. Please cooperate."
The room erupted. The revelation hit like a bomb.
"My God, multiple homicides! You truly never know a person's heart."
"This is terrifying. She acted so sweet and gentle every single day. Who knew she was so vicious?"
"Who else did she kill? She definitely orchestrated Lizetta's accident. Do you think she murdered Elsa back then too?"
"Mrs. Madden?"
The officer raised his voice, frowning at her catatonic state.
He unclipped the handcuffs from his belt, moving in to make the arrest.
Eartha violently snapped back to reality. She scrambled backward, her voice hysterical.
"Officers, I'm being framed! You have no proof! This is a setup! I want to press charges! I'm suing him for kidnapping my adopted daughter and abusing his power to frame me!"
Tears of rage welled in her eyes as she pointed a shaking finger at Remington.
Remington let out a dry laugh. "Ma'am, you're the one throwing baseless accusations around. I am a law-abiding citizen. Why would I kidnap your daughter? Aren't you worried about adding defamation to your list of charges?"
His perfect picture of innocence made Eartha tremble violently. Before she could scream another word, the lead officer interjected with a stern voice.
"Is your adopted daughter Andrea Porter?"
Eartha's eyes lit up with desperate hope. She nodded frantically.
"Yes! Andrea! I reported her kidnapping by Remington Dashiell in Zion City! You have to..."
"An hour ago the officer cut her off, "Andrea Porter walked into the Zion City police station and turned herself in. She confessed on record that you structed her and her biological mother, Jolin Gardenia, to coordinate the murder of Lizetta Madden. And you're telling us she
was kidnapped?"
It was as if all the bones in Eartha's body dissolved. She stared at the officer in
absolute horror.
"What did you say? Who turned herself in?"
The officer had no patience for repetitive questions.
"Let me make this clear. We are making a lawful arrest. This is not a If
force!" use.
you resist, we will use.
With a sharp nod, the officers swarmed her.
Two men pinned her shoulders and wrenched her arms back.
The cold steel of the handcuffs bit into her skin, and Eartha completely lost her mind. She thrashed wildly.
"No! I didn't do anything! I'm innocent! Let me go! Get your hands off me!"
Her violent struggle caught the officers off guard, causing a brief scuffle.
The board members scrambled backward, looking at Eartha as if she were a literal demon.
The officers finally forced her
against the heavy mahogany
conference table, pinning her down with a loud thud.
Her face contorted in sheer panic, she screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Dad! Help me, I'm innocent!"
