Chapter 362:

“I’ll call the police then!” Daryl ground her teeth, stomping her foot in frustration. “I admit I swapped the babies, but that’s all! It’s just a slap on the wrist, not prison time!”

Janice shook her head, her voice steady. “First, Delilah’s embezzlement was all because of your influence. Second, the dean of the orphanage can testify to you deserting the child.”

Daryl was dumbfounded.

She had always worked behind the scenes, making it seem impossible to prove her influence over Delilah. But for Janice, the world’s top hacker, gathering evidence was effortless.

“Let’s see the big screen,” Janice said, her tone calm but firm. The screen lit up with screenshots of chat logs, clearly showing conversations between Daryl and Delilah.

The chats exposed how Daryl had coached Delilah on deceiving the Edwards family, gaining their trust, and even encouraging her to steal shares from Edwards Group. The Edwards family froze as they read the messages, stunned into silence.

It was as if they were witnessing how Daryl had slowly transformed Delilah into the greedy, deceitful woman she had become.

They even saw how Daryl had taught Delilah to frame Janice—and remembered how, whenever there was trouble between the two, Daryl was always there, pointing the finger at Janice.

A heavy wave of regret crashed over them all at once, like a ton of bricks.

Connor gasped, rage overwhelming him, and spat out a mouthful of blood. “Dad! No!”

Carman and Dotson rushed forward, panic in their eyes, trying to support him.

“What have we done?” Connor dropped to his knees, staring at Janice with despair. “How did we push our own daughter to this point?”

Janice watched them with an emotionless expression, her gaze steady as the Edwards family crumbled.

Aiden gently took her hand, his touch warm against her cool skin. Beneath her calm exterior, he could feel the deep hurt she was trying to hide.

From this moment on, he would be the family she needed.

The words caught in his throat, too heavy to say aloud.

He knew that by tomorrow at nine, they would be saying goodbye. What right did he have to speak those words?

For the first time, he regretted his past choices. Why had he ever made that deal with Janice instead of simply following his grandfather’s plan to be together? Regret had no cure. He was stuck with the consequences of his own decisions.

“Guards!” Janice ordered, and a few bodyguards stepped forward to surround Daryl and Delilah.

“What are you doing? Help! Somebody, I’m being murdered!” Daryl screamed, throwing a fit and fighting back, but the guards were too strong for her to do anything.

“Take them to the police station,” Janice commanded coolly. “Daryl, Delilah, you’ll get to reunite in prison.”

“Ah! Janice Edwards, you villain!” Delilah yelled in frustration. “I had everything planned perfectly, so how did you slip away?”

“Everything was planned perfectly?” Janice laughed, shaking her head. “I knew about your scheme with Andrew from the very beginning. You really thought I wouldn’t notice? The wine Sierra gave me had something in it—but that didn’t do the trick. Then you had Cheryl stain my clothes, forcing me to head to the restroom. And in there, you lit incense, which by itself was harmless. But when combined, they made me hallucinate.”

Delilah’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Janice, almost seeing her as some sort of monster. “How did you know? And if you knew, why did you still go along with it?”

Janice answered coolly, “If I hadn’t played along, how could I have witnessed this moment?”
