“Thanks!” Demi quickly slipped on the slippers and retreated to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of water. She composed herself, but a surge of resentment brewed. She had arrived early to command attention, only to have the spotlight stolen by the woman outside.

“Really? He came alone? No manager or assistant tagging along?”
“He mentioned that a dating show thrives on genuine connections and guest interactions, and having others around would only be a distraction.”
