Chapter 521
Chapter 521:
“From what we know of him, it’s unlikely to be Leonidas,” Prescott began. “I just reviewed the surveillance footage, and there was someone in a mask messing with the chandelier. I’ll keep digging to find out who, but…”
Prescott’s expression hardened. “Even if he isn’t directly behind the attempt on Janice’s life, still—”
Before Prescott could finish, Costello delivered a powerful punch to Leonidas, the sound echoing through the room.
The impact knocked Leonidas backward, his chair crashing to the floor with him.
“Costello, I hadn’t finished speaking.”
“Go on, finish, and I’ll hit him again after,” Costello retorted, his tone rough.
Prescott sighed, shaking his head. “Janice just messaged to say one beating will suffice. If he’s looking for a game, she’s ready to play it to the end.”
He threw Leonidas a scornful look. “Janice has seen through his pathetic games and doesn’t regard him as a threat.”
“Janice is unbelievably arrogant,” Leonidas muttered, squinting despite the sting in his cheek. “But tell me—how did she pull it off? Who was on stage?”
“Curious, are you?” Prescott approached, crouching to meet Leonidas’s eye level. “With all your supposed smarts, shouldn’t you already have figured it out?”
Leonidas’s eyes narrowed, his gaze growing icy as Prescott’s words struck a nerve.
“For someone with your intellect, it’s a privilege that Janice even bothers to entertain you. Let’s not forget—you’ve never beaten her, not once.”
“Enough!” Leonidas spat through gritted teeth, his anger boiling over. He had endured countless trials abroad, believing he had finally become strong enough to face Janice.
But even now, after multiple confrontations, he still felt utterly powerless in her presence.

“Costello, Braylen, release him,” Prescott ordered calmly.
“Fine.”
With Stephen’s life hanging in Leonidas’ grasp, Janice knew she couldn’t get rid of him for now.
The only way to put an end to this chaos was to uncover the power backing Leonidas. Until then, they had no choice but to let him be. Exiting the backstage area, Leonidas found himself face-to-face with Alissa.
“Well, don’t you look pathetic?” Alissa remarked, crossing her arms and eyeing him with contempt. “Honestly, I thought you’d do better, but…” Her tone was laced with biting sarcasm.
Leonidas’s expression turned grim as he fixed a cold gaze on her. “Are you here just to throw insults?”
“I planned to confront you about the earlier incident. But it seems the scheme wasn’t yours after all.”
“You’re sharper than I expected,” Leonidas admitted, a flicker of surprise crossing his face as he studied her.
He had written her off as nothing more than a pampered airhead, yet here she was, piecing things together with surprising clarity.
Alissa stepped closer and tilted Leonidas’ chin upward. “I’d like to officially discuss a collaboration with you.”
Leonidas arched an eyebrow, shifted his head to one side, and brushed Alissa’s hand away. “And how exactly do you propose we collaborate?”
