Chapter 564
Chapter 564:
“You were right before. I was interfering.” Janice paused, then turned to face Stephen with a determined look. “But I can’t help but interfere.”
Stephen looked at her, slightly confused by Janice’s words.
By then, Janice was already talking to the camera in the corridor. “Devin, I accidentally tripped Stephen earlier, and he fell. I’m worried he won’t be able to participate in the swimming contest.”
Devin was still enjoying the thrill of the high viewership on the live stream when Janice’s announcement caught him by surprise.
“What? Stephen is injured?”
“Yes, it seems he’s sprained his ankle. He might need some time to recover.”
“How could he have been so careless?” Devin frowned. The live stream’s audience was eagerly waiting for Stephen’s appearance.
He feared that if Stephen didn’t show up, he would face intense backlash from Stephen’s fans.
Furthermore, if these passionate fans found out about Stephen’s injury, they might pose a serious threat to the show.
Just as Stephen was about to step out and explain the situation to Devin, he caught Janice’s steady gaze.
He opened his mouth to speak but eventually chose to remain silent.
He knew Janice was trying to help him, but he couldn’t shake the discomfort of feeling indebted to her.
“Stephen is injured, but I know his fans would be upset if he doesn’t appear today. Here’s a solution. He can stay out of the water and simply serve as a referee from the sidelines,” Devin said.
“Thank you, Devin.” Janice recognized that this was a major sacrifice on Devin’s part.

The show was at the peak of its popularity, and any loss of control over the segments could easily result in chaos.
Janice then went back to Stephen’s room and shut the door.
“Stephen, if you want to keep this quiet, you’ll need to follow my plan,” she said.
Stephen turned to look at Janice, his face showing a mix of emotions. Despite Janice overstepping his personal boundaries, he found it hard to be angry with her.
“Why are you helping me?” he asked.
Janice was momentarily surprised. Why was she helping him? Of course, it was because he was her brother. But she couldn’t tell him right now.
“I find you quite likable. I help because it feels right.”
“That’s an unusual reason,” Stephen said, slightly distracted. “Alright, what do I need to do?”
“Just take off your bathrobe!”
Aiden didn’t go to the pool after changing into his swimwear. Instead, he headed toward Janice’s room.
Just as he stepped out, he saw Janice slipping into Stephen’s room, shutting the door behind her.
