Chapter 742:

Shocked, Aiden turned to see a motorcycle descending, landing just to his left.

Vroom!

Another thunderous sound echoed.

A second bike landed to his right.

“What the hell?”

Aiden gritted his teeth and sped up once more.

But before he could clear the path, a third motorcycle soared over him and landed in front of him.

The three motorcycles quickly formed a tight triangle, sealing off all possible escape routes.

With the path ahead blocked, Aiden made a quick decision. He tilted the bike sharply, nearly laying it flat against the road.

Sparks flew as the motorcycle’s side grazed the asphalt. In a calculated move, Aiden collided with the motorcycle blocking their path, knocking it aside.

At the same time, Aiden grabbed Janice and leapt from their bike. They tumbled across the pavement, coming to a stop moments later.

“Janice, are you all right?” he asked, his voice laced with concern.

“I’m okay,” she replied, pushing herself up.

Janice stood, her eyes scanning the approaching gang of bikers. The road ahead was completely blocked, and their motorcycle was leaking fuel from the impact, rendering it useless.

Aiden positioned himself protectively in front of her, his gaze locked on the oncoming attackers.

Around them, traffic had come to a halt, with drivers trapped in their cars, too frightened to move. The once-bustling road had cleared, as though the scene had been set for a gladiator’s arena.

“Aiden, it looks like we have no choice but to fight,” Janice said, stepping out from behind him.

She adjusted the golden mask on her face and tied her long hair back into a tight ponytail, her eyes gleaming with fierce determination. She exuded an undeniable sense of authority.

But before she could take another step forward, Aiden pulled her back. His gaze was caring, yet firm. “Janice, remember your upcoming surgery. You can’t risk any harm. Stay behind me and let me handle this.”

He turned to face the gang, his expression hardening with resolve. “As I said earlier—today, let me be your shield.”

Janice wanted to join the fight, but the intense seriousness and courage in Aiden’s gaze made her rethink and step back.

“Be careful,” she said, her voice filled with concern.

Fortunately, the bikers were only armed with knives, making the threat less severe than it could have been.

Aiden ran his fingers through his hair, his lips curling into a menacing smile. It was as though he was releasing something dark that had been held back for too long.

Janice arched an eyebrow, her eyes fixed on Aiden’s back. She could easily imagine his time as a mercenary abroad. In the chaos of war zones, violence was an everyday reality. Those harsh experiences had shaped him, sharpening his more ruthless and relentless side.
