Chapter 141

Love Drug (Summer and Fraser) · NovelDrama.Org

Fraser’s face darkened, his voice ice-cold and terrifying.

“A minor incident?” he snapped. “You were kidnapped and thrown off a damn cliff, and you call that a minor incident?”

Summer froze at his frigid words.

Even if she was slow to catch on, she could still feel the anger radiating from him.

“Why are you so mad?” she asked. “Just because I didn’t tell you I was kidnapped?”

Fraser’s dark eyes locked onto hers—unreadable, yet piercing.

“Is that all I am to you?” he asked quietly. “Someone so insignificant that I don’t even deserve to know?”

So insignificant that even when you were hurt… I never crossed your mind.

Summer clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.

Yes, her phone had been broken. Julia had sent someone to deliver a new one the very next day.

So why hadn’t she told him?

Because it wasn’t necessary.

She didn’t even know whether he was back.

She didn’t know if another woman’s voice would answer on the other end.

Besides, their relationship was already coming to an end. There was no point in saying anything.

Yet her eyes still burned. Her chest tightened painfully, and a mist of tears welled up at the corners of her eyes.

She sniffed, forcing her voice to stay calm. “I never said that. If you’re just here to argue, come back another day. I’m not in the mood.”

Did she really think I came here to argue?

The moment Fraser heard she’d been kidnapped and thrown off a cliff, panic had gripped him like never before. He’d rushed to the hospital without a second thought.

Even when Trevor—that little punk—had been the one to save her, the only thing that had mattered was that she was alive.

And yet, this woman thought he was here to argue.

A sharp pain tightened in his chest.

He wanted to shake some sense into her—but damn it, he felt like a fool.

He stared at her for a long moment, his dark eyes unreadable. Then, without a word, he turned and walked toward the door.

Just as he reached the doorway—

A soft cough sounded behind him.

His steps halted.

His jaw clenched. His fingers curled into a tight fist, veins standing out beneath his skin.

In the next second, he turned back.

Summer’s eyes widened in surprise as he strode toward her, his movements swift and decisive.

Before she could react, his hand cupped the back of her head, and his lips came crashing down onto hers.

It was sudden—reckless.

His kiss carried suppressed anger, fear, and a desperation he had never voiced.

Summer’s mind went blank.

His breath was warm, overwhelming, stealing the air from her lungs.

For a heartbeat, she forgot everything—the hospital room, the pain, the arguments.

Only him.

Then he pulled back just as abruptly.

Their breaths were ragged. The air between them felt charged, heavy.

Fraser’s eyes burned as he stared at her, as if trying to carve her into his memory.

Without another word, he turned and left the room.

Later—

Under Fraser’s intense gaze, the young nurse’s normally steady hands trembled despite her years of experience.

Under immense pressure, she finally managed to insert the IV needle properly.

The moment they stepped out of the room, she let out a shaky breath, realizing she was drenched in cold sweat.

“That was intense,” she whispered. “I swear, if I’d messed up, that guy would’ve had my nursing license revoked on the spot.”

Finished

The other nurse giggled quietly. “Did you see the way he looked at Ms. Stewart? His eyes were locked on her like she was the only person in the world.”
