Chapter 252
The Graham Group’s investment division was the largest investor in the country. No matter the industry, if it was a top-tier institution, the Graham Group had a stake in it.
Xavier made a call. “Bossman, want to come to The Qube for some fun?”
The man on the other end replied in an emotionless voice, “No time.”
“Oh?” Xavier chuckled. “Your dear Summer is here.”
Fraser frowned. What is she doing in a place like that while pregnant?
“Why is she there?”
Xavier shrugged, his tone full of mock concern. “No idea. She said she’s here for her best friend’s birthday party. You know how loud this place is. Medically speaking, it’s really not suitable for a pregnant woman to stay long. Best case, it’s bad for the baby. Worst case…” He paused meaningfully. “Well, you know. As your good friend, I feel obligated to stop her. The problem is, I don’t know which private room she’s in.”
Xavier delivered the nonsense with a perfectly serious expression.
But the man on the other end listened.
“Wait there,” Fraser said curtly.
The call ended.
A few seconds later, Xavier received a message:
Room 505. Keep an eye on her. I’ll be there soon.
Xavier smirked. Little wildcat… here I come.
Summer entered Room 505.
The room was packed—deafening music, flashing lights, and overlapping voices. The stage glowed in dazzling colors, casting an almost surreal light over everything.
Most of Yvette’s social circle came from the entertainment industry, so nearly everyone present was either a trending celebrity or a popular influencer—beautiful, glamorous women dressed to impress.
When Summer walked in, no one noticed at first.
It was Yvette—right in the middle of dancing—who spotted her. She immediately jumped off the stage and pulled Summer over.
“Summer, you made it! Sit down for a bit. I’ll have them bring the cake out now. Once we blow out the candles, you can have a bite, and I’ll have someone send you home.”
Summer glanced at the time. “It’s not even midnight yet.”
Yvette knew this place was far too overwhelming for a pregnant woman. The fact that Summer had come at all already made her happy.
“With you here, it already feels like midnight,” she said warmly, waving over a server to prepare the cake.
Moments later, a towering five-layer cake was wheeled in.
The band lowered the volume. Celebrities and influencers gathered around, excitement filling the room.
“Wow, it’s the birthday girl’s moment!”
“Happy birthday, Yvette! May your career skyrocket!”
“Make tons of money!”
The atmosphere grew even livelier.
Just as the cake was being pushed in, a man strolled in behind it—a slick-looking guy with a roguish air.
It was Bobby.
The same Bobby who had been relentlessly chasing Yvette lately.
He was dressed casually, clearly already a little drunk.
“Heard it’s your birthday,” Bobby said loudly. “Didn’t think you’d seriously not invite me.”
Yvette’s smile vanished. “What does my birthday have to do with you?”
Bobby scoffed. He’d been pursuing her for nearly half a year, and she still ignored him.
If soft tactics didn’t work, then it was time for something harsher.
Women are all the same, he thought. They only behave when they’re humiliated.
His gaze swept lazily across the room—and landed on Summer.
“Oh? Summer, you’re here too?” Bobby sneered. “Didn’t you dump Trevor and immediately cling to the boss of the Graham family?”
Summer’s expression turned icy. “What does that have to do with you?”
Bobby hooked a finger under a nearby girl’s chin. She blushed and lowered her head obediently.
“I just don’t get it,” he continued loudly. “Back then, you clung to Trevor like your life depended on it. Now you jump straight into another man’s arms. Does the Graham family’s boss not mind picking up leftovers?”
The insult was vicious.
The room went quiet.
Women nearby watched with thinly veiled excitement, eager for gossip.
Yvette was furious. Why did this disgusting man have to ruin my birthday party?
Summer calmly picked up a glass of water from the table—her fingers tightening around it.
