Chapter 103
Valen immediately summoned Dorian and both of them walked into his office.
“There’s an emergency,” Valen said, pacing around immediately as he entered his office.
Dorian straightened up ready to carry out any order given. “What’s the emergency my lord?”
Valen stopped pacing, his hands curled into fist, his jaw tightened, his eyes narrowed as he stared into space. “You will need to summon the council, this matter can’t be delayed” he said in a cold voice.
Dorian could see Valen was fighting so hard to restrain himself from unleashing his dark aura. Whatever this emergency was, It has really touched a sensitive spot.
Dorian nodded and tried making his way out when he was stopped.
“There’s something else I want you to do for me” Valen said as he beckoned Dorian to come closer. He whispered something in Dorian’s ears.
Dorian’s expression changed to that of shock and then understanding
“Where’s Scottie?” Valen asked
“She’s trying to get medication for Ella, my lord” Dorian responded
Valen nodded. The thought of his mate still unconscious, hardened his resolve. Sebastian might be his brother, but he has a queen to protect now. Ella’s life had been threatened several times within his territory. If he can’t protect his second chance mate, then of what use was his power?
“Inform her about the meeting” Valen commanded
“Yes, my lord.” Dorian nodded. He bowed and took his leave, ready to carry out the orders assigned to him.
****
Scottie, Sebastian, Morgana, the other vampire’s lord and elders were already seated when Valen walked in exuding a suffocating and dark aura.
No one knew the reason why he called for this meeting but his expression made it clear that it wasn’t good.
Valen sat down as his eyes scanned everyone in the room before he started speaking.
“Well, you all might be wondering why I called for a meeting on such short notice,” his voice was deep and dangerously cold. It has come to my knowledge that there is a traitor amongst us.”
Whispers and murmurs erupted as everyone looked at each other suspiciously.
Sebastian tensed but didn’t let it show in his face. There was no possible way Valen could know what he had done.
Morgana however, wasn’t so good in masking her emotions. Fear gripped her as her heart raced. Had they been discovered already?
Valen’s eyes narrowed as he looked at their reactions.
“Sebastian…” Valen called out. “Do you have anything to say?”
The murmurs died down immediately. Everyone shifted their gaze to Sebastian. Shock and suspicions evident in their expression.
Sebastian chuckled, ” leaning back in his seat. “What are you talking about dear brother?”
Valen got more irritated hearing him call him brother, what sought of brother sought to kill his brother?
“Quit the act Sebastian. You have never considered me as your brother” Valen snapped.
Sebastian’s dark eyes narrowed slightly.
“I know of your plans to kill me and take over,” Valen continued, his tone deadly “I know of how you anonymously aided the vampire hunter to wipe out the southern pack, another means for you to take out my allies one after the other”
Chaos broke out in the council room as everyone gasped, shocked to their bones. They exchanged wary glances
Sebastian’s hands clenched into fist, his jaw tightening.
Valen leaned forward, his crimson eyes burning with a cold fury “And now you have switched your plans to my Mate, you feel she’s the ticket to gaining more powers to take me out once and for all. And not just me, but everyone who stands by my side.” Valen said
The room erupted again. This was far beyond what everyone had imagined.
Morgana was shocked, her hands trembling. She had never known Sebastian had such dark motives. She just realized she was only a pawn to him. Anger surged within her.
Sebastian remained seated, his face expressionless. How did Valen find out? He had been very careful, he refused to admit to Valen’s accusations, seeing that Valen had no evidence. He doesn’t know where Valen got this information but as long as there’s no evidence, it’s just hearsay.
“You can’t accuse someone without evidence Valen” Sebastian said calmly, his lips curving into a mocking smirk.
Valen smirked back “Evidence?”
He had expected Sebastian would ask that, but he had come prepared, he couldn’t tell them he had seen everything in his vision, it would sound unbelievable.
As if on cue, the doors opened, and Dorian walked in, carrying a box.
Sebastian’s eyes immediately narrowed.
Valen’s smirk deepened as he turned to Sebastian, his hands resting on the box. “You still want evidence? Well, here’s your evidence”
Dorian opened the box to reveal Ella’s empty Vial of blood and some other documents revealing Sebastian’s treachery.
The room erupted once more as everyone stared at Sebastian unbelievably.
Seeing the contents, Sebastian’s smirk disappeared. The evidence was undeniable, there’s no way out of this. He waited for what Valen would say next.
“Sebastian” Valen called out, his voice deadly dangerous. “You’re hereby banished from this pack and stripped of your royal title.”
Anger burned within Sebastian. Banishment? Really Valen? This embarrassment and humiliation you have shown me today, I would make sure to double it. Sebastian thought, clenching his fist.
Valen rose from his seat and walked up to him and silently whispered “Pray she wakes up, if not I will hunt you down and personally kill you”
Sebastian’s eyes burned with fury, his lips curled in rage, but he said nothing.
“Take him out of my sight, from now henceforth he’s a rogue and no one is expected to associate with him”
The guards quickly seized Sebastian and dragged him out. He didn’t struggle, but the look in his eyes told Valen this wasn’t the end yet.
Valen exhaled, thank the gods he acted fast, he had instructed Dorian to call for a council meeting and for him to go to Sebastian’s place and search for some kind of evidence when he’s at the council meeting.
Dorian had done exactly that, and the evidence he gathered was damning.
But Valen, Knowing the kind of person Sebastian was, knows he never goes down without a fight and banishing him had turned them into enemies.
The elders murmured amongst themselves, still shaken.
Morgana sat still, trying to process everything. Her alliance with Sebastian had been a grave mistake. She had underestimated his cruelty, his hunger for power.
Valen turned his gaze to the council, his voice commanding.
“This matter is settled for now, but I want all eyes on the lookout for Sebastian. We have cut off the snake’s head but we must remain vigilant. Dismissed”
One by one, the council members rose, murmuring amongst themselves as they took their leave.
Morgana sat motionless, her heart racing. She knows Valen can be ruthless, but he hadn’t banished her too, does that mean he didn’t know she had foolishly helped Sebastian?
Her breath hitched as Valen turned his gaze towards her briefly before looking away.
Scottie and Dorian walked up to him.
“What next?” Scottie asked looking worried
Valen’s jaw tightened. “Now… we prepare for whatever comes next”
He turned to Dorian. “Keep an eye on Morgana, I don’t trust her”
The vision had focused mainly on Sebastian but he could tell that he had accomplices. Morgana had greatly helped his kingdom and he prays she doesn’t pick the wrong side.
