Chapter 430
Bennett's phone was connected to the car's Bluetooth, and the voice on the other end came through the car's speakers.
"Bennett, Yolanda... Yolanda tried to kill herself... She's on her way to the hospital, you need to get here, fast." Emma's voice was urgent, trembling and tinged with a sob.
After the call ended, Bennett's sharp brows furrowed deeply. He remained silent, but his grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly.
"She sounds so panicked. Yolanda's condition must be serious. You should go to the hospital now."
"I'll take you home first," Bennett said, his gaze lowered and his voice heavy.
"A life is on the line. Let's go to the hospital first," Yvonne insisted.
Bennett didn't argue further and drove straight to the hospital.
The black Mercedes pulled up to the hospital entrance. Just as Bennett got out, an ambulance came screaming up to the curb.
Paramedics quickly and efficiently lifted Yolanda out of the ambulance.
She lay unconscious on the stretcher, her face deathly pale. She looked as fragile as paper, completely lifeless.
Mr. and Mrs. Walker stumbled out of the ambulance after her.
Mrs. Walker looked as if she was about to collapse, and luckily, Emma, who had just arrived, caught her in time.
Mrs. Walker gripped Emma's hand and sobbed.
"It's all my fault. I wasn't watching her closely enough. I never thought she would actually try to kill herself..."
“Ever since Bennett broke up with her, she's been in a terrible state, dazed all day. Her health was already poor, and this past month she hasn't been eating or sleeping well. She's lost over ten pounds."
"Yolanda loves Bennett so much; she just can't accept that he cheated on her and fell for someone else. She keeps blaming herself, wondering what she did wrong for him to suddenly abandon her."
"Yolanda, my daughter... she's so young. If anything happens to her, I don't want to live either..."
Mrs. Walker was a blubbering mess. As she looked up, she saw Bennett's car parked at the entrance, and in the passenger seat sat that woman, Yvonne.
Losing control, Mrs. Walker charged forward, grabbed Yvonne, and slapped her hard across the face.
In her two lifetimes combined, this was the first time Yvonne had ever been slapped. She covered her stinging cheek with one hand, clenching the other into a fist, forcing herself to endure it.
Even if the Walkers were criminals, Yolanda was an innocent party in all this.
If Yolanda had attempted suicide because Bennett broke up with her, then Yvonne did feel a sense of guilt. She deserved this slap.
However, after the first slap, Mrs. Walker still wasn't satisfied and lunged forward to hit and curse at her again.
"You homewrecker! You shameless bitch, seducing another woman's fiancé! You'll get what's coming to you!" Mrs. Walker had lost all semblance of a high-society lady, screaming at the top of her langs in front of the hospital.
"Come on, everyone, take a look! This is Yvonne, the famous actress! Instead of being a decent person, she chose to be
a homewrecker et
destroying someone else's relationship! She's morally

bankrupt!"

Yvonne felt a pang of guilt over Yolanda's suicide attempt and couldn't bring herself
to fight back against an elder. It was the first time she'd ever been in such a passive, vulnerable position.
Yvonne was wearing a form-fitting
top and a short skirt for a
promotional shoot that day Mrs.
Walker yanked at her collar, tearing å button and exposing the distinct red marks on her neck and collarbone.
Against Yvonne's fair skin, the hickeys were glaringly obvious.
This sent Mrs. Walker into an even greater frenzy.
"You slut! How can you be so cheap? My daughter is driven to suicide because you
stole her man, and you're still busy sleeping with him... You shameless vixen!"
