Chapter 855
Mrs. Walker assumed Yolanda was worried about the baby and tried to comfort her.
But Yolanda wasn't listening. She hopped off the examination table, walked straight to Dr. Powell's desk, and pulled the outermost file from the bookshelf. Just as she suspected, the name on the cover was Yvonne.
When Dr. Powell had slotted the file into the bookshelf earlier, Yolanda had caught a glimpse of the name. She thought she might have been mistaken, but looking at it now, it was definitely Yvonne's.
Yolanda opened the file and saw the various test results and Dr. Powell's notes: Six weeks pregnant, natural conception, no abnormalities.
"That little bitch is pregnant!" Mrs. Walker gasped, having seen the file over Yolanda's shoulder.
Yolanda had gone through so much to get pregnant, all to give birth to the first great-grandchild of the Thompson family. A child would be a powerful bargaining chip in their struggle for control of the family's assets.
Even if the Thompson Group ultimately went to Bennett, Frank would surely have to provide them with a larger stipend for the sake of the child.
But before Yolanda's child was even born, Yvonne had to get pregnant at this exact moment.
Frank already favored Bennett, his legitimate son. With Bennett having a child, the one in Yolanda's belly would become worthless.
"That bitch, she sure knows how to pick her timing," Mrs. Walker fumed.
"That bastard is never seeing the light of day," Yolanda hissed, her knuckles turning white as she crushed the file in her grip.
Mrs. Walker didn't want Yvonne's child to be born either, but now that Yvonne was pregnant, she would certainly stop working.
A pregnant woman resting at home wouldn't be going out much. And even if she did, she'd be surrounded by bodyguards. Someone as
cautious as Bennett would prool net
Yvonne and that bastard in her belly with airtight security making it early impossible for them to make a move.
"Yolanda, don't be rash. Let's go home and discuss this properly with your father," Mrs. Walker urged She
y took the file from yolanda's hand and placed it back on the shelf.
Mrs. Walker accompanied Yolanda to her tests, and by the time they returned, Dr. Powell was back in her office.
Yolanda's test results showed no major issues for now. Dr. Powell had her assistant get their prescription, and the mother and daughter left.
As Mrs. Walker and Yolanda reached the hospital entrance, they were surprised to see Eden's car parked there.
"Mrs. Walker, Yolanda," Eden said, getting out of the car. He walked up to them and put an arm around Yolanda's shoulder.
Yolanda clearly disliked his touch. She frowned slightly and subtly pushed his arm away.
"What are you doing here, Eden?" Mrs. Walker asked, her tone neutral.
Normally, a husband should accompany his wife to her prenatal appointments.
Bennett was so busy, yet he still made time to come to the hospital with that little bitch Yvonne. Was Eden really busier than Mr. Thompson?
Although Mrs. Walker didn't say it aloud, she was clearly displeased with Eden.
"I came to pick up Yolanda," Eden explained "Grandmother hasn't been well, but she's having a rate goodday and wants to see Yolanda and the baby."
Mrs. Thompson Sr.'s condition was deteriorating daily. She was just hanging on,
hoping to see her great-grandchild born.
