Chapter 751
Vernon hesitated for a moment, then finally understood.
He explained patiently, "It's Vernon."
Little Nina frowned, tilting her head as she studied his handsome face. "Huh? Which characters are those?"
Vernon was speechless.
He'd forgotten that this adorable little girl was still in kindergarten; of course she didn't know how to read complex characters.
He chuckled helplessly. "It's okay. You can just call me Vernon."
“Okay!” Little Nina grabbed his hand and started pulling him toward the house. "You can definitely stay with us, Vernon! Our house is super big, and we have another really cute baby sister. I'll take you to see her..."
The little girl eagerly dragged him inside, completely forgetting about her parents and brother standing behind them.
Stewart pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a complex mix of emotions as a father.
"Maybe I shouldn't have brought Vernon back?"
Briony shot him a glance. “She's just a child, what does she know? Don't be like James Delaney, getting all worked up just because Little Nina is friendly with a boy."
"I used to think he was overreacting, too," Stewart said after a pause. “But now, I completely understand how he feels."
Briony couldn't be bothered with him and led their son into the house.
Little Nina took Vernon upstairs to the second floor to see Lori.
Carol had just finished giving Lori a bath, and the little bundle was so comfortable
that she was lying in her crib, happily kicking her feet in the air.
Suddenly, two faces leaned over her, one more beautiful than the next.
Lori became even more delighted, cooing and gurgling as she kicked her little feet with even more excitement.
Little Nina giggled. "See? She's talking to us!"
It was Vernon's first time seeing such a tiny baby up close, and he found it both fascinating and adorable.
Mario ran in and joined them, all three crowding around the crib to watch the baby's leg-kicking performance.
When Carol came in with a freshly prepared bottle of formula, she saw the scene and her eyes crinkled with a smite "Our Lori is the luckiest girl, with her big brother and sister here to play with her!"
"Auntie Carol, let me feed my sister!" Little Nina held out her hands.
"Not just yet, sweetie. How about when she's a little bigger?"
Feeding an infant this young required a delicate touch, and Carol didn't dare entrust the task to Little Nina.
She lifted Lori from the crib, sat down at the foot of the bed, adjusted her position, and placed the bottle in Lori's mouth.
Lori was hungry and latched onto the nipple, gulping down the milk eagerly.
The three children stood by, watching intently as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
Outside the door, Briony and Stewart watched for a while. Seeing the children getting along so well, they felt relieved.
"Vernon seems to be adjusting well,"
Briony said, turning to Stewart.
the
"There are no more rooms on the
Segond floor. Should I put him the
room next to yours?"
“That's fine,” Stewart said, taking her hand as his other hand pushed open the
master bedroom door. "Now, it's time to talk about us."
Briony frowned. "Us? What about us?"
Stewart pulled her into the room.
The next second, the door clicked shut.
Briony's back was pressed against the door. Before she could react, his large hand wrapped around her lower back, gripping her slender

There wasn't a sliver of space between them.
Briony's brow twitched. "Stewart, you—mmph!"
