Chapter 1002
Chapter 1002:
The fire crackled in the fireplace, the shifting flames casting flickering shadows across the room.
The warmth surrounded them, and her voice remained steady, unwavering. The more she spoke, the calmer she seemed.
“Jumping into the river…” Ashley whispered. She pressed a hand to her forehead and lowered her head.
Fernanda watched as silent tears slipped down her face, soaking into the soft white wool shawl wrapped around her shoulders.
She continued, sharing everything that happened after she and Cristian found each other again.
Ashley listened, then let out a quiet sigh. “It was fate. The two of you made a significant impact on each other. If not for Lennon, you might never have unlocked your full potential. And if not for you, Cristian wouldn’t have made it this far.”
Lowering her head slightly, she held onto Fernanda’s hand. “Please accept my gratitude.”
Fernanda shook her head. “You don’t have to say that.”
Ashley smiled faintly. “The only thing that matters is that you stay well. I know Cristian. When he gives his heart to someone, it’s for life.”
People often said he was cold, detached. But both women understood the truth. The more distant he seemed, the deeper his emotions ran when he finally let someone in.
The next morning, after wrapping up the art exhibition, Fernanda and Ashley returned to Litdence.
Instead of taking Fernanda to the Reed family mansion, Ashley brought her to her private residence.
She didn’t live in a grand estate but in a sleek, spacious apartment with a modern aesthetic.

In the blink of an eye, Christmas was just two days away. That morning, Cristian arrived.
Bobby had gone to pick him up from the airport.
At the time, Fernanda and Ashley were doing yoga in the living room.
The moment she saw him walk in, Fernanda sat up in surprise. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t be back until Christmas Eve?”
“I wrapped up work earlier than expected.” Cristian smiled.
Ashley let out a soft snort. “Let me guess. You wanted to surprise her?”
Cristian stepped out of his shoes, switched into house slippers, and shrugged off his coat. He turned to Ashley with a smile. “You too. Consider this a surprise for you as well.”
Ashley scoffed, waving a hand dismissively. “Please. I don’t recall you being this considerate in recent years.”
