Chapter 132
Chapter 132:
Dumping the remaining stew into Alex’s hands, Neal spun on his heels and walked away.
As they headed back, Levi and Alex seamlessly slipped into the roles of food tour guides, pointing out the best eats on the street. They described the specialties of each eatery with the zeal of seasoned connoisseurs.
It was no secret—any eatery that managed to stay in business near a school had to be exceptional to survive the competition.
Back at the school gates, a sleek black luxury car sat parked, radiating understated elegance.
“You guys go on ahead,” Fernanda said, her eyes fixed on the vehicle. “I need to step out for a bit.”
Recognizing Cristian’s car, she approached as the back door eased open. Sliding in, she was met by his steady gaze. Cristian’s eyes flicked toward Wendy and the others outside before a faint smile crossed his lips. “Making friends with your classmates, I see?”
“Just the ones I already knew,” Fernanda replied casually as the driver pulled away. “Haven’t met the rest yet.”
Her eyes traced the sharp lines of Cristian’s profile before she tilted her head, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “So, what brings you here? Came all this way just to see me?”
Cristian nodded, cutting straight to the point. “You went to Bright Lights Media yesterday?”
Her eyebrows arched. “How do you know that?”
“I was at my cousin’s place and overheard my aunt on the phone,” Cristian said, rolling up his sleeves with a casual precision that revealed lean, defined forearms.
“I see,” Fernanda murmured, piecing it together. “Yeah, I dropped by because their media outlet’s been reporting on me a lot. I wanted to meet them and figure out who’s pulling the strings.”

“Smart move.” Cristian shot her an approving glance. “So, did you find out who’s behind it?”
Fernanda’s gaze lingered on his deep eyes. His lips curved faintly, and the gleam of a gold button on his shirt added a touch of sophistication. Their eyes met in silent understanding.
Cristian’s mention of his aunt made it clear—he knew the mastermind was Judie.
“What’s your next step?” Cristian asked, his tone measured.
“I’m not sure yet,” Fernanda replied, keeping her plans to enter the media world to herself. She didn’t want him to misinterpret her ambitions as a plea for his help.
But Cristian, as always, seemed a step ahead. “Don’t you want to do something? Like… build a career?”
His words struck a chord. Cristian had always seen through her, recognizing she wasn’t one to settle for the ordinary. A quiet, predictable college life wasn’t in her cards. Her ambitions ran deeper, sharper.
