Chapter 153
Chapter 153:
After several exhausting rounds, the girl finally said, “This will be my last match. I’m starving. Since you invited me through the nearby players list, we must be close by. Let’s grab a meal together!”
Sloane perked up instantly, agreeing without hesitation and telling the girl that they were from Esaham University. The girl revealed she was from Luminary University and suggested they meet at Esaham University’s main gate.
“I didn’t think we’d meet face-to-face so soon,” Sloane said, practically buzzing with excitement as she rubbed her hands together.
“I bet she’s adorable.”
Fernanda would have preferred to stay behind, but Sloane’s persistence wore her down.
Yet, as they approached the gate and spotted the girl waiting there, Fernanda felt the weight of déjà vu settle over her.
It was her. The same girl Fernanda had seen just yesterday—the one relentlessly pursuing Neal.
No wonder the voice had sounded so familiar.
The girl’s face lit up the moment she saw Fernanda and Wendy. Her excitement bubbled over as she exclaimed about the coincidence of their meeting once again.
Her natural warmth made conversation effortless, and before long, she and Sloane were chatting as if they had known each other for years. Fernanda soon learned that the girl’s name was Bonita Perry.
“Fernanda, have you seen Neal?” Bonita asked, tugging lightly at Fernanda’s arm. “Can you get him to join us for a meal?”
“He’s off campus right now,” Fernanda replied, shaking her head. “I can’t get in touch with him.”
“Oh, so you can’t reach him either?” Bonita’s nose crinkled in frustration. “I’ve been messaging him since last night, but he hasn’t replied.”
“His phone’s switched off,” Fernanda said.

“Oh, alright. I hope he’s fine, though.” Bonita let out a soft sigh, her disappointment evident. “Well, I guess I’ll just have to wait for him to get back to me.”
Sloane blinked, curiosity flickering in her wide eyes. “Who are you guys talking about?”
“A student from our college,” Fernanda said with a faint smile. “I’ll fill you in later.”
“Alright, alright,” Sloane said eagerly, her intrigue plain.
“What do you guys want to eat? My treat!” Bonita said brightly, her generosity shining through. “You helped me rank up this morning, so it’s the least I can do.”
Wendy’s lips twitched slightly as she remembered the braised pork Bonita had gifted her earlier—still sitting untouched in the fridge.
“No need for that. Let’s just split the bill,” Wendy suggested.
Sloane waved her hands dismissively. “That place over there looks nice and clean. Shall we eat there?”
