Chapter 183
Chapter 183:
“I’m perfectly fine with treating you to another one if you’d like,” Cristian chuckled.
Fernanda decided not to reply to that.
She walked ahead with him trailing close behind. But as the waiter held the door open, she abruptly pivoted and walked back inside.
“What’s going on…?”
“Shh,” Fernanda murmured softly to Cristian before hurrying back into the restaurant.
Cristian frowned in confusion, taken aback by the sudden shift in her demeanor.
It didn’t take long for him to realize that Fernanda had caught sight of someone familiar.
Martin and Judie had just walked in, and their paths crossed almost instantly.
“Aunt Judie, Martin,” Cristian said warmly, acknowledging them with a nod.
“Cristian?” Judie exclaimed, surprise flashing across her face. Clearly, she hadn’t expected to bump into him here. A mischievous smile crept onto Judie’s lips. “Are you on a date? Come on, where’s your girlfriend? Let me see her.”
Cristian responded with a small smile, sidestepping her question. “Are you and Martin celebrating your anniversary here?”
“Yes, it’s our wedding anniversary,” Judie replied, beaming as she tightened her hold on Martin’s arm.
In that moment, Judie’s expression radiated the pure joy of someone deeply in love, almost like a young girl.
Martin and Judie had always shared a strong bond. Their occasional spats were just minor bumps, the kind every marriage encounters.
“I won’t keep you from your celebration,” Cristian said. “Have a wonderful dinner.”
With those words, he turned and walked off.

“Cristian, wait!” Judie called out, clearly eager to probe into his love life, but he didn’t stop or glance back.
“Let it go,” Martin said gently. “Don’t pry into his love life when Cristian clearly doesn’t want to share.”
“I’m just curious!” Judie chuckled. “When have you ever seen Cristian on a date in a setting like this? I’ll have to corner him soon to see if he’s actually in love.”
“You…” Martin sighed, his tone tinged with resignation.
He thought about questioning why Judie never showed this level of interest in their son’s romantic life, but he held his tongue. Bringing up Fernanda would only stir her ire.
He couldn’t fathom why Judie seemed so against Fernanda. To him, she was a genuinely lovely person.
Cristian reached the car and lingered there for a few moments before Fernanda finally emerged, her head bowed low.
He opened the passenger door for her, and she slipped in without a word.
