Chapter 305
Chapter 305:
“Who keeps calling?” Bobby asked, curiosity gleaming in his eyes. “You’ve been ignoring it forever. Could it be Cristian?”
“Nothing important,” Fernanda replied with a casual shrug.
She understood perfectly why Rosita was calling but made a deliberate choice to ignore it.
This was a test for Rosita. Fernanda wanted to see if she would follow orders or go her own way.
This wasn’t just about the news—it was about Rosita’s understanding of hierarchy. An hour later, her phone pinged with a notification. Bright Lights Media had published the article.
Fernanda’s lips curled into a satisfied smile.
Rosita hadn’t let her down.
As for the consequences, Fernanda was never one to back down, regardless of the circumstances.
By the time Bobby reached the halfway point up the mountain, he felt as though he might faint at any second.
He had no idea that climbing a mountain could take such a toll on him.
“I can’t do this,” Bobby muttered, dropping to the ground and waving his hands. “You guys can go on ahead. Just leave me here.”
On the way, he had already downed four bottles of water, but instead of needing a bathroom break, all that liquid just came pouring out as sweat. Wendy, who usually didn’t waste her time talking to him, couldn’t help but poke fun. “Wow, are you really that weak?”

He quickly shot back, trying to defend himself, “Weak? No way! I just haven’t climbed a mountain in ages.”
Did Wendy even understand what “weak” meant to a guy? How could she throw it around so casually?
Wendy sneered, curling her lips in amusement. “You admitted you can’t handle this, and that’s simply a sign of physical weakness. Look at Jeff—he’s barely winded compared to you.”
In contrast to Bobby, who was panting for air, Jeff seemed completely relaxed and in control.
He’d had sweat beading on his forehead earlier, but it was gone now. His hair was still perfectly in place, just like when they started at the base of the mountain.
A wave of dissatisfaction surged in Bobby’s chest. He felt like everyone was looking down on him.
Jeff was really something. Fernanda was kind to him, and now even Wendy seemed to be defending him with a kind of admiration.
Bobby couldn’t help but sense the danger in all of this.
In one swift motion, he stood up and fixed Jeff with a sharp, intense glare. It was clear he already viewed him as an enemy, even if just in his own mind. Jeff’s face…
