Chapter 359:

Erika fell silent, unable to come up with a retort.

Sensing the tension, Leon quickly stepped in. “Fernanda, don’t just stand there—come sit down.”

Fernanda joined Leon on the sofa, ready to gather more information.

“Where did you find them?” she asked.

“At an internet café my friend owns,” Leon explained. “He called, saying there was trouble, and asked for help. I sent a couple of guys to handle it. They recognized your brother and informed me, so I let you know.”

“What caused the commotion?” Fernanda inquired.

Leon exhaled, shaking his head. “Someone made an inappropriate comment about your sister, which angered your brother. Things escalated from there into a brawl.”

He gave a faint laugh, clearly exasperated. “Turns out the other person involved was actually an acquaintance of his. Typical teenagers—friends one moment, foes the next.”

Fernanda’s gaze fell on Kevin, who sat silently, overhearing every word. Clearing his throat, Kevin shifted uneasily, looking both embarrassed and defiant.

“Impressive,” Fernanda said, her tone neutral. “Standing up for your sister—quite brave of you.”

She meant her words sincerely. She respected those who protected their loved ones—it showed character. Kevin, young as he was, already demonstrated such responsibility, which she admired.

Yet, Kevin interpreted her comment as mockery.

“I’ll always protect her!” he snapped, glaring at Fernanda. “And if you ever mess with her, I’ll defend her against you too!”

“Kevin!” Ector’s voice carried a sharp reprimand. “Mind your manners!”

Kevin, stubborn and fiery, ignored his pain to sit upright, shouting, “It’s her fault that Erika ended up out in the rain! If she hadn’t been so cruel, Erika wouldn’t have gone looking for me and gotten into this mess! She’s the one who mistreated Erika!”

His voice was loud, but instead of intimidating anyone, it just made his head throb even harder.

Ector instinctively glanced at Fernanda, worried Kevin’s outburst might upset her. But she appeared completely unbothered, studying Kevin with amusement. Deciding this was a family issue, Leon signaled his staff to leave, ensuring only the Morgan siblings remained.

Kevin locked eyes with Fernanda, his defiance unyielding.

Under the chandelier’s light, Fernanda’s calm demeanor carried an intimidating grace, leaving Kevin unexpectedly at a loss.

“You called Erika your what?” Fernanda finally asked, breaking the silence.

“She’s my sister. So what?”

“And what about me? What am I to you?”

“You’re nothing to me! You’re my enemy!” Kevin yelled. He refused to meet her eyes, as though averting her gaze would shield him from feeling vulnerable. “Even if you’ve returned to our family, I’ll never recognize you! I’ll never accept you as my sister—don’t even think about it!” Kevin’s voice rose, but Fernanda was undeterred.
