Chapter 363:

Her eyes scanned his face, searching for any features that might resemble Cristian’s, but she found none.

“What’s your name?” she asked, her voice steady.

“Why should I tell you? You think you’re worthy of knowing my name?” The boy’s tone remained rude as he shouted. “Let me go right now, or you’ll regret it, you vile woman!”

Fernanda didn’t bother entertaining his tantrum any longer.

“Soren,” she said evenly, “hit him.”

Soren froze, his eyes widening in surprise.

“Fernanda, isn’t that going a little too far?” He hesitated, his voice uneasy. The boy had claimed ties to the Reed family, and messing with them wasn’t exactly wise.

“It’s fine. Go ahead,” Fernanda replied, leaning back into the sofa. Her tone was icy, her expression unreadable. “He’s old enough to learn that actions have consequences. Maybe this will teach him that the world isn’t as indulgent as he thinks.”

Scratching his head, Soren hesitated again. Her logic made sense, but something about it still didn’t sit right with him.

“Just do it. If there’s fallout, I’ll deal with it.” Fernanda sneered.

“You wouldn’t dare!” The boy’s smirk faltered, his eyes narrowing in disbelief as he glared at her.

His bravado crumbled slightly, but he clung to his confidence, convinced she wouldn’t follow through.

Fernanda’s unshaken calm, however, left no doubt that she meant every word. Soren hesitated for only a moment before deciding to carry out Fernanda’s orders.

Something about her calm assurance made him trust that she could handle whatever fallout might come. He summoned his men with a quick nod, and they began to rough up the boy. Their strikes were controlled, loud enough to intimidate but measured enough to avoid causing serious harm.

After all, if this boy really was from the Reed family in Litdence, things could get complicated if they went too far. Yet, the boy continued to scream in agony.

Years of being spoiled had left him completely unprepared for even the slightest discomfort, let alone physical punishment. For the first time in his life, he felt the sting of a beating.

“You’re finished! Let me go, or I’ll have all of you slaughtered, you filthy scum!” he cried out, his voice a mix of anger and desperation.

The torrent of insults didn’t faze Fernanda. She had heard far worse and found his outbursts almost amusing.

Humiliation hit him harder than any punch or kick. He couldn’t fathom that his connection to the Reed family hadn’t shielded him from this disgrace. This moment, he knew, would stay with him forever. The woman before him had made herself his lifelong nemesis.

“Are you ready to apologize?” Fernanda asked, her voice sharp and unwavering as it cut through the boy’s wailing. “Say sorry to my brother, and I’ll let this end.”

“Never! You think I’d apologize to that piece of trash? He doesn’t deserve it!” The boy had the stubbornness of a mule.
