Chapter 424
Chapter 424:
The scene at the bustling mall was overwhelming. A sea of fans filled the space.
Everywhere Fernanda looked, people were holding banners and signs and shouting the names of their favorite stars. On stage, several beautiful young women smiled and waved at the crowd below.
Some of the participants were members of girl groups, dazzling the audience with their singing and dancing. Others were actresses, captivating with their charm and proven acting talent. Then there were the influencers, talented in various arts, who effortlessly drew attention.
Standing amidst the chaos, Fernanda couldn’t help but feel out of place. She sat quietly on a stool at the back, watching the performances of the celebrity contestants and listening to the waves of enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. Despite her own doubts, she remained composed and occasionally clapped along with the audience.
Beside her, Aidan was anything but calm. He paced anxiously, glancing between her and the stage.
He suggested, “How about you sing a song? Or play the piano? Even just showing your face would be enough. You’re so beautiful. I’m sure plenty of people will like you. I’m begging you, please, give it a shot.” Maybe using her charm in this way wasn’t such a bad thing.
Fernanda’s heart softened as she met Aidan’s earnest gaze. Reluctantly, she agreed and walked to the piano.
Fernanda had no intention of stealing the spotlight, so she played a simple piece. The audience offered polite applause, but her effort didn’t draw much attention.
Meanwhile, Aidan was beaming, wearing a proud, almost fatherly smile as he watched Fernanda. In his eyes, she was perfect in every way.
He believed many in the audience likely felt the same way.
The next day, he summoned Fernanda, brimming with excitement. “See, Fernanda? I told you performing would work! Look at your votes. They’ve skyrocketed!”

Fernanda glanced at the leaderboard and, to her surprise, saw her name had climbed to fifth place.
“I told you,” Aidan said, grinning as he waved his phone triumphantly. “You could’ve just stood there, and your face alone is enough to attract fans. At this rate, hitting number one is just around the corner!”
The online voting continued for a week. As the days passed, Fernanda’s votes kept climbing steadily. With two days left, she had taken the top spot.
Aidan was over the moon.
But Fernanda couldn’t share his joy.
Something was amiss.
It wasn’t that she lacked confidence in herself. She knew she had her own charm. But she was also well aware of how loyal celebrity fans could be. With so many well-known contestants, her votes shouldn’t have risen so quickly, especially not to first place.
