“That recording isn’t the full story,” Fernanda interjected, her tone calm yet firm. “I vehemently declined the offer. Regrettably, my rejection didn’t make it into that recording—clearly a sign of someone’s sinister agenda.”
“Why keep silent about this until now?” retorted the leader, his tone laced with frustration. “Bringing up a tampered recording now will only tarnish our credibility further!”
The challenge was clear: they needed solid evidence to reveal the actual culprit.
But identifying the culprit so quickly seemed almost insurmountable.
Just a few days of rumors could devastate Esaham University’s standing.
“Just give me a little time,” Fernanda stated, her eyes earnestly meeting each leader’s in turn. “I promise to deliver a thorough and satisfying explanation!”
The leaders in the office were initially skeptical of Fernanda. But there was something about her—her composed and calm presence, and the maturity in her voice—that made them begin to trust her words.
Aidan, noticing the shift, was quick to speak up. “I agree. Let’s allow Fernanda the time she needs to investigate this properly. I have complete trust in her. She’s not the type to manipulate votes! If we look closely, we’ll find something. We can’t risk tarnishing the school’s reputation, and Fernanda certainly doesn’t deserve to be falsely accused. We must protect every student here!”
At that moment, Fernanda felt a deep sense of gratitude toward Aidan. Above all, he had shown her unwavering trust.
“Alright,” one of the vice principals said. “Fernanda, you have three days. We need to provide an explanation to the public. Any longer, and the damage to our school’s reputation will be irreversible.”
Fernanda gave a slight nod before stepping out of the office.
The moment she exited, her friends quickly gathered around her, eager to know what had happened.

Sloane, visibly upset, stomped her foot. “This is unbelievable! How could they accuse you of tampering with votes? That’s just wrong! You didn’t even want to be part of this competition!”
The others exchanged knowing glances. They all understood Fernanda’s true reasons for joining the competition—she had only done it at Aidan’s request. She wasn’t competitive by nature and had no motive to manipulate the votes. Despite knowing the truth, they couldn’t ignore the fact that others might still doubt it.
