Chapter 455
Chapter 455:
The elevator doors slid open, and Jordyn stepped inside. Before Fernanda could follow, she glanced back at Cristian, who stood leaning against the doorframe, his posture languid, eyes half-lidded as they followed her movements.
Fernanda turned to face him, and he winked at her, his lips curving into a brilliant smile. It was full of purposeful taunting.
Fernanda looked away hastily and entered the elevator. The doors closed, and the elevator descended slowly, the silence stretching between her and Jordyn.
It wasn’t until they were outside the apartment and in Jordyn’s car that the stillness was broken.
“I’ve told Cristian more than once to change that password,” Jordyn said with a sigh, trying to keep her tone light. “For safety’s sake, he really should switch it up more often.”
“Maybe he’s just used to it,” Fernanda replied, her voice neutral but thoughtful.
Jordyn gave an awkward smile. “Ever since he found out my birthday is 0620, he’s kept it as his password. Our schoolmates used to tease us about it, which was… well, a little awkward.”
As she spoke, Jordyn glanced at Fernanda, studying her face for any reaction. But Fernanda’s expression remained perfectly composed, her demeanor unshaken.
Jordyn suddenly realized that she couldn’t quite read Fernanda—not at all. It was important to note that Fernanda, despite her youth, was calmer and more composed than many experienced politicians and businesspeople.
Jordyn had a feeling that she might need to approach Fernanda in a different way, not relying on her usual methods.
First, she needed to determine whether Cristian and Fernanda were just business associates or if there was something deeper between them. With that thought in mind, Jordyn casually posed a question. “Miss Morgan, I hear Cristian’s grandfather’s birthday is right around the corner. As Bobby’s fiancée, I assume you’ll be there, won’t you?”
Fernanda’s thoughts lingered on what Jordyn had said earlier: her birthday was on June 20th. For a brief moment, she appeared absentminded.

Jordyn had been watching Fernanda closely, but no matter what she said, Fernanda’s expression remained calm and indifferent, which only made her feel frustrated.
Fernanda didn’t seem to care at all.
This wasn’t right. She should be jealous.
“I’ll be there,” Fernanda finally answered Jordyn’s last question.
The truth was, she had already learned about the upcoming birthday party for Cristian’s grandfather, Curran Reed, from Haley, and she hadn’t forgotten.
Jordyn smiled, pleased. “That’s good. Curran will be so happy to see Bobby with such an amazing fiancée like you.”
Fernanda said nothing in response.
