Chapter 645
Chapter 645:
The story had dominated both social and scientific headlines for weeks, Fernanda remembered.
Unlike the skeletal remains typical of dry environments, these mummies were in a state of extraordinary preservation: hair, eyelashes, and soft skin were still intact, as if they had simply been sleeping for millennia, offering a valuable opportunity for scientific study.
Fernanda realized then that Wendy had played a role in this significant discovery.
“That’s quite an achievement,” Fernanda praised, offering a thumbs up.
“Thank you,” Wendy said, finishing her grooming and turning to Fernanda. “Your turn now. How did you get the chance to take the university entrance exam?”
Admission to Esaham University’s entrance exam was contingent upon candidates demonstrating significant contributions in their disciplines, showing potential for future growth, or representing a specific sector with excellence.
Wendy had never directly asked about Fernanda’s admission. She intuitively felt that Fernanda excelled in various areas, which made it difficult to ascertain her specific avenue into the university.
After a brief pause, Fernanda explained, “I got in through the e-sports track, thanks to my gaming achievements.”
Wendy looked puzzled. “But you’re not a professional player, are you?”
“Yeah,” Fernanda admitted with a hint of embarrassment. “But I’m actually quite famous in some game.”
“Which game?” Wendy asked, intrigued.
Fernanda blinked. “Ever heard of Apex Arena? There’s a player known as Nimbus.”
Wendy was familiar with the game, though not an avid player. Yet, she recognized the name Nimbus—a legend in the gaming community and an idol among her peers.
“I’ve definitely heard of him,” Wendy responded. “Isn’t he something of a hero to Levi and the others?”

“Yes,” Fernanda nodded.
“Who is he, though?” Wendy asked, intrigued. “Someone who recommended you?”
“It’s actually me,” Fernanda said.
For a moment, Wendy was at a loss for words.
She set her cup down after a pause, fixing Fernanda with a serious gaze. “You mean to tell me you’re the famed Nimbus?”
“That’s me,” Fernanda admitted.
Amazement took over Wendy’s expression.
“Unbelievable! That explains your admission to Esaham University. You must have aced their evaluation with a background like that.”
Fernanda let out a laugh.
“Why have you kept this from Levi and everyone else?” Wendy raised an eyebrow. “How can you just sit there quietly while they all go on and on about Nimbus? Doesn’t that feel awkward?”
“Not in the slightest,” Fernanda replied with a twinkle in her eye. “I do have to admit, I am quite remarkable.”
