Chapter 7:

Cristian finished his conversation and offered Fernanda a fleeting smile, one that seemed untouched by the tension swirling around them.

Fernanda folded her arms and settled deeper into her seat, her face composed and serene as she watched Cristian approach the group of armed men.

The scene was stark—one man standing alone against a crowd armed to the teeth. The odds were clearly against him.

Yet, as Cristian lifted his foot and sent two men to the ground with a single, silent kick, Fernanda couldn’t help but notice the precision and power in his movements.

His technique spoke of extensive training and raw capability.

Riled by Cristian’s defiance, the gang surged forward as one. Sticks swung through the air, each blow landing with a heavy thud that echoed with menace.

Cristian, however, moved through the chaos with an almost effortless grace.

Despite their advantage in numbers, his assailants found themselves unable to overpower him.

One attacker took a blunt punch straight to the face, staggering back and collapsing against the hood of Cristian’s car. Wiping blood from his nose, the man glared in fury. Then, catching sight of Fernanda in the car, a sinister idea flashed in his eyes.

Cristian seemed unstoppable, but the woman in his car appeared to be a more vulnerable target.

Her presence suggested a close connection to Cristian. Taking her hostage might force Cristian into submission.

With that thought, the man sprang up and yanked the car door open.

Just as his hand reached for Fernanda’s arm, she fixed him with a cold, piercing glare and hissed, “Go ahead, touch me—I’ll make you regret it, you piece of trash.”

He froze, momentarily unsettled. Even with all his experience in violent encounters, the sheer confidence radiating from her was unexpectedly intimidating.

It was clear she wasn’t just anyone and certainly not someone to mess with. Her formidable presence was genuine, radiating a stern confidence that couldn’t be faked.

Suddenly, a harsh cry of pain from behind him broke the tense standoff as another of his associates collapsed to the ground.

With his jaw clenched, he snapped, “Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me like that?”

His grip on her arm tightened as he growled, “Get the fuck out, right now!”

Without hesitation, Fernanda delivered a swift kick to his stomach.

The man howled in pain, doubling over and crashing to the pavement, clutching his gut as he writhed.

Fernanda stepped elegantly out of the car, brushing his touch from her arm as if wiping away dirt. Her eyes, fierce and disdainful, narrowed as she gave him a scornful smile. “I warned you, but you had to ignore it and bring this on yourself.”

The man lay sprawled on the pavement, cursing loudly as he shouted to his accomplices, “Don’t just stand there—take her down! That bitch needs to learn her place!”

At his furious order, several attackers broke away from Cristian and charged toward Fernanda.

Cristian’s expression darkened, a flicker of concern in his eyes as he moved quickly to intercept them.

But he was not prepared for what happened next.

Fernanda was not just defending herself—she was dominating the fight. Cristian had seen women fight before, but Fernanda was in a league of her own.

Her punches and kicks were delivered with lethal precision, each move fluid and unyielding. She was a whirlwind of force, every strike flowing seamlessly into the next.

Within moments, the asphalt around her was littered with defeated opponents, each one groaning in pain.

She finished her display with a powerful shoulder throw, sending a man well over two hundred pounds crashing onto the concrete. Rising to her feet, Fernanda dusted off her hands, her breathing steady and calm. As she surveyed the few remaining adversaries, a smirk tugged at her lips.

“Who’s next?”

The few remaining attackers exchanged nervous glances before scattering, their retreat so frantic that one of them clipped a utility pole with his car in his rush to escape.

Fernanda scoffed, her voice slicing through the fading chaos. “You guys are pathetic.”

With the threat gone, Cristian slid his knife back into its sheath and walked over to her, his gaze intense and unreadable as he took in her poised figure.

Bathed in the soft glow of the street lamps, her captivating features and radiant eyes stood out, giving her an almost ethereal quality. She looked every bit the refined, composed young woman, yet witnessing her in action revealed there was so much more beneath the surface.

Cristian’s lips curved into a soft, knowing smile.

The evening breeze ruffled his hair, revealing his smooth forehead and accentuating his striking features. The playful glint in his eyes, combined with his relaxed grin, gave him an irresistible charm.

Fernanda, avoiding his intense gaze, looked away, but his magnetic presence was impossible to ignore. That smile nearly made her lose her composure.

“Not bad,” he remarked casually, his voice a low, inviting hum. Without warning, he closed the distance between them, his features growing sharper in her view.

Caught off guard, Fernanda instinctively drew back, her impulse to keep her distance kicking in. But Cristian was faster—his hand found her waist, his grip firm yet gentle as he pulled her into his arms. As her resistance faded, she felt herself soften into the warmth of his embrace.

With a tender motion, Cristian tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, his gaze lingering on her delicate features.

“You’re full of surprises,” he murmured, his tone laced with admiration. “I find myself quite taken with you.”
