Chapter 713
Chapter 713:
Vinson slid into a booth, ordered a couple of beers, and let the sound of Fernanda’s voice draw him in. Her performance didn’t last long, though. After he arrived, she sang three more songs before stepping off the stage, leaving the spotlight to the bar’s regular singer.
The moment Fernanda finished, the crowd erupted in applause, their admiration loud and unreserved. With a graceful smile, Fernanda made her way to Vinson’s table. “What a surprise, Mr. Turner! What brings you here?”
Fernanda’s mood seemed light, her smile bright and contagious, instantly softening Vinson’s expression as he met her gaze.
“I’m looking at a mall upstairs that’s offering spaces for rent,” he replied. “I thought I’d check the place out for a shop. After I wrapped up my errands, I saw the bar and decided to stop by for a drink.”
“Well, that’s quite the coincidence, then.”
“Indeed. Are you here with your team?”
Fernanda raised an eyebrow, her expression playful. “Wait, how did you know?”
For a moment, Vinson was caught off guard, unsure how to answer.
“Just a lucky guess,” he muttered, quickly regaining his composure.
“But seriously, where are they? You should go catch up.”
“They’re over there,” Fernanda said, gesturing toward the corner and pointing in the direction of the group. “Would you like to join us? I could introduce you to my friends. Oh, and Sloane is over there too—the one I work out with. She mentioned running into you a few times and that you helped her with her form.”
“Yeah,” Vinson replied, his tone casual.
“Then come on!” Fernanda’s voice bubbled with excitement as she waved him over. “It’ll be more fun with everyone together.”
Vinson knew Fernanda well by now. She wasn’t the type to show much warmth to others, often leaving people to think of her as distant and cold. Her invitation today, though, felt different. It was a gesture of respect, one he couldn’t easily turn down. Not that he wanted to, though.
So, he trailed behind Fernanda to their table.

As soon as Levi spotted Vinson, his eyes went wide, and he froze, momentarily speechless. Sloane, sitting close to Levi, kept nudging him impatiently. “Come on, spill it! Why are you leaving me in suspense? Are you doing this on purpose just to torture me?”
Since they returned, Sloane hadn’t let up, bombarding Levi with questions. Fernanda, just off the stage and unaware of the tension, casually chimed in, asking, “What’s going on?”
Sloane seized the moment to vent her frustration. “Oh, Fernanda, you won’t believe this! Earlier, Levi emerged from the mall looking like he had seen a ghost. When I asked what happened, he said he spotted Hertha. You remember Hertha, right? He said Hertha was with a man in the restroom. But when I pushed for more details, he completely shut down. That’s really annoying.”
Fernanda raised an eyebrow, showing little interest in the drama. “I guess it was no big deal.”
Sloane wasn’t backing down. “But I want the details! Come on, Levi. Just tell us, what was Hertha doing with that guy?”
