Chapter 754:

“What’s caught your attention?” Neal asked, still drying his hair.

“Planning to take this computer with you?” Fernanda inquired, her gaze never leaving the screen.

“What? Where to?”

“You’re moving, aren’t you? Are you really going to stay in this awful place? This place is a disaster. Aren’t you worried a spider will crawl into your ear while you sleep?”

Neal’s expression faltered, speechless in response.

“Remember the studio offered to arrange a place for you? But you turned it down. Honestly, it’s time to face it. Just move already. It’s closer to Clement and the others, and I’ll need you there to keep an eye on them, so they stop getting into fights.” With that, Fernanda reached under the bed and pulled out his suitcase. “Is this really all you’ve got?” Neal gave a small nod in response.

Without missing a beat, Fernanda moved quickly, packing the computer into the suitcase with efficiency. His belongings were sparse, a few clothes barely making a sound as they settled inside.

“Leaving this place means letting go of the past,” Fernanda remarked gently. “Neal, we’re not just acquaintances. We’re friends and partners. You can trust us.”

As he tucked a towel into the inner layer of his suitcase, Neal’s voice barely rose above a whisper. “I will. From now on.”

He promised himself he would try to open up and trust others. Now, he had friends. Real ones.

Stepping into the hallway, Neal reached for the suitcase, taking it from Fernanda’s hands. “I’ve got this.”

“Are you sure?” Fernanda studied his red eyes closely. “I don’t want to end up taking you to the hospital.”

A wry smile tugged at Neal’s lips. “I’m not that fragile.”

Despite his low spirits, he wasn’t quite at his breaking point. A cool breeze swept in as he pushed open the heavy door, the crisp air carrying a sense of renewal.

The day was brilliant, the sun radiating with an almost overwhelming intensity. Gone were the winds and rain from yesterday, replaced by the warmth of a cloudless sky.

A flicker of hope passed through Neal’s mind. Things could only get better from here.

Fernanda led Neal to Cristian’s car. Once inside, she directed, “Let’s head to the studio first.”

Cristian nodded without hesitation and started the engine.

Fernanda opened WhatsApp and quickly typed a message to Clement, asking him to secure the apartment on their dorm floor that they’d been considering for some time.

Clement’s dorm was nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, known for its beautiful landscaping. Clement and his friends enjoyed living together, so they’d rented a spacious four-bedroom apartment with living rooms. There were several other rooms available on the same floor, all managed by the same agency, which had an office just down the hall. Fernanda had already spoken with the agency, letting them know that if the studio needed new accommodations, they would continue to rent. Since they had already viewed the apartments, they could sign the contracts directly.
