Chapter 779
Chapter 779:
The thought of crossing her sent a shiver down his spine. If she ever set her sights on him, she would take him down before he even knew the battle had begun.
Fernanda smiled. “Alright, everyone go home. I will stay here and let you know if there are any updates.”
“I am not leaving. I will wait with you,” Sloane immediately declared.
Fernanda nodded in acknowledgment.
A few minutes later, the doors to the operating room swung open, and Bonita was wheeled out.
Her wound was tightly bandaged, and an IV was delivering anti-inflammatory medication into her system.
The doctor announced, “The bleeding from the abdominal wound has been controlled, and there are no serious complications. Just a minor nasal fracture and a concussion. With proper rest, she will make a full recovery.”
Sloane exhaled deeply, pressing a hand against her chest in relief.
“I am sorry,” Bonita murmured weakly from the bed. “I made you worry.”
“It’s nothing. That’s what friends are for,” Sloane reassured her. “Your only mission now is to recover. Do not waste a single thought on that lunatic. Once I get back, I’ll have my parents find someone to make sure he rots in that mental hospital forever.”
Sloane’s voice was laced with both fear and fury. How could a person like that even exist?
“You two should head home as well,” Neal, who had been silent all along, finally spoke.
Fernanda turned to look at him. Neal, however, kept his eyes fixed on Bonita, his expression unreadable. After a brief pause, he said, “There is something I need to ask her.”
“Alright then,” Fernanda nodded. “I’ll stop by tomorrow.”
She linked her arm with Sloane’s, guiding them both toward the exit.

“What, are you just going to leave Bonita with Neal?” Sloane frowned, hesitant to leave. “Is he competent enough to look after Bonita? What if he messes it up? He barely knows her!”
“He’s Bonita’s boyfriend,” Fernanda replied with a smirk. “What’s worrying you?”
“I am worried about… Wait! What?” Sloane halted abruptly, her eyes wide in shock. “He’s Bonita’s boyfriend?” Her voice resonated through the clean hallway.
Small yet powerful, her voice carried enough force to make Fernanda grimace.
Fernanda didn’t want to disclose Bonita and Neal’s relationship before they did; however, after this episode, their relationship would soon be public knowledge, so she felt it was acceptable to share it with Sloane.
“Yes, haven’t you constantly mentioned Neal being in a relationship? And isn’t it the same with Bonita?” Fernanda smirked.
Sloane stood dumbfounded, her thoughts visibly swirling.
“But… but they barely speak! How could they be… What’s really happening here? I’m completely lost now!” Sloane clutched at Fernanda’s arm, her voice desperate. “Explain everything to me, from the beginning.”
Fernanda recounted their romantic story with concise detail, watching as Sloane’s jaw dropped further with each revelation.
