Chapter 866
Chapter 866:
Norris broke out in a cold sweat. If the Local Youth Council found out about this, the school would be in serious trouble. How would the school carry out future social activities?
“No need to be hasty now. We can settle this amicably,” Norris said, stopping Fernanda, who was about to leave. “We can still discuss this. Don’t be impulsive.”
Seeing Norris’s urgent demeanor, Fernanda realized he would relent to her demand.
Half an hour later, Fernanda, Neal, and Ritchie emerged from Norris’s office.
Ritchie stared in disbelief at the document labeled “Team Transfer Approval” that he held in his hands. The official seal had been emblazoned on it, making it a binding document. His hand trembled slightly, betraying his excitement.
“Congratulations,” Neal said, slinging an arm around Ritchie’s shoulder. “I told you that when Fernanda is by your side, nothing is impossible.”
Neal chuckled as he recalled the sight of Norris breaking out in a cold sweat.
Norris had clearly not been expecting Fernanda to escalate things in such a manner.
He had started to understand that she meant business when she mentioned her media company and the Local Youth Council.
The reputation of a prestigious school like his was incredibly important. Negative press, like the one Fernanda had threatened, could end up interfering with their social activities and affecting their public relations. Fernanda knew exactly how someone like Norris thought.
Once outside the school, Neal noticed that Ritchie hadn’t stopped staring at the document. He snatched it from Ritchie and then handed it back to him once he had his attention. “No need to stare at it that long. It’s not going to disappear.”
Ritchie carefully folded the paper and tucked it away in his pocket.
Neal hailed a taxi, and all three of them got in, with Fernanda sitting in the front seat.
Once inside, Ritchie asked, “Where are we going?”
“Well, we’re taking you to your new workplace to meet your teammates,” Neal replied cheerfully.

Although their first meeting had been off-putting, Neal had eventually come to respect Ritchie after they’d played a few games together.
Firstly, he respected his skill, and secondly, his determination was a big reason. Ritchie never gave up during the game until it was clear nothing more could be done.
Even in unfavorable situations, he always sought to turn things around. Neal believed Ritchie to be a perfect candidate for the livestream, as he would show other players with weak wills what a real fight was all about.
Ritchie was visibly nervous, fumbling as he got out of the car.
Although it was past closing time at the studio, everyone had stayed to welcome their new teammate.
When they saw it was Ritchie, they weren’t too surprised.
“I thought he wasn’t allowed to join us. Did you manage to change that?” Levi asked.
“Of course Fernanda did,” Sloane answered with a smile. “She went in person to effect his transfer. How else could they have pulled it off?”
“That makes sense,” Alex said, nodding.
