Chapter 939
Chapter 939:
The idea made his stomach twist.
Cristian hung up and met Kevin’s gaze. “I’m going after Fernanda.”
“Obviously!” Kevin nodded.
Meanwhile, Fernanda lay stretched out in the back seat of a moving car.
She smirked at the stiff man beside her. “Mr. Griffin, this isn’t exactly how I pictured our first one-on-one.” She’d seen him before at a few banquets.
Fulton was a real estate mogul: a big name with significant influence. Yet, Fernanda had never spoken to him—never had a clue when he decided she was something to acquire.
He’d even traded a whole company for her. That was unexpected.
Fulton went rigid, feeling a knife pressed against his side.
Fernanda gripped the handle, the blade steady.
Fulton’s jaw tightened. “What do you want?”
Fernanda flashed a bright, almost playful smile. “That’s my line. You went through all this trouble to get me—what for? You in love with me or something? Planning a wedding?”
Fernanda was just messing with him. The guy was married. That was obviously off the table.
Fulton’s face reddened, but he said nothing.
He had carried her out, but before he could shove her into the car, a stranger came out of nowhere and slammed him against it.
Fernanda’s eyes snapped open. He’d thought she was unconscious—but she’d been faking it all along.
Before he could react, she grabbed a knife, pressed it to his side, and shoved him into the car. That was when he realized he was the one caught in a trap.

“So this was all a setup?” Fulton’s jaw tightened, demanding an answer.
Fernanda smirked. “No. They wanted to work with you—I just ruined their plan.”
Fulton inhaled sharply, forcing down his frustration.
The passenger seat creaked as Leon turned around.
That afternoon, when unease crept in, Fernanda had texted Leon, telling him to wait outside the villa with a few guys.
If things went south, she’d give the signal.
She’d been right to trust her instincts.
Soon, the car pulled up to Fulton’s real estate office.
The building was empty now, the only light coming from the streetlamps outside.
Fernanda slipped a hand into Fulton’s pocket, grabbed his company card, and swiped it. The gate unlocked with a beep, and the car eased into the lot.
