Chapter 967
Chapter 967:
He knew the second he tried to lay a hand on her, men would step out of those cars and make him suffer a hundred times over.
Never in his life had he imagined that his daughter would rise to such power.
The people she associated with were far beyond his reach. At her age, she had already accomplished more than he ever had.
“Do you realize where you went wrong?” she asked. “You failed, not just in business or as a father, but as a person. No matter what path you take, principles are everything. But you? You have none. That’s why you lost everything.”
Robert reflected on his life. He had spent decades fighting to get ahead, only to find himself utterly alone in the end.
Even his own daughter saw him as nothing more than a failure.
It was absolutely pathetic.
Robert walked away, his shoulders slumped as if he had aged ten years in an instant. His once-impeccable suit was wrinkled, hanging loosely on his frame, making him look even more disheveled. Fernanda watched him go, her face unreadable. She felt nothing.
The snowfall grew heavier. She lifted her hand, letting a few flakes land on her palm. They shimmered briefly before vanishing.
Her phone vibrated. A message from Ector lit up the screen. “My meeting’s over. I’m waiting in the coffee shop downstairs.”
Slipping the phone back into her coat pocket, Fernanda rose to her feet. She had only come because Ector had called. Running into Robert had been nothing more than an unpleasant coincidence.
The warmth of the coffee shop wrapped around her the moment she stepped inside, a sharp contrast to the icy air outside.
The snow that clung to her lashes had melted, leaving them damp.
Ector sat near the window, his suit jacket draped over the back of his chair. The crisp white shirt he wore made him look even thinner than before.

Fernanda slid into the seat across from him.
Ector had always been on the lean side, but lately, he had lost even more weight. The veins on his hands were more prominent now.
“I resigned,” he said.
Those were the first words out of his mouth.
Fernanda lifted her gaze to meet his.
Then he added, “But I’m keeping my shares. I just… want to work somewhere else.”
“You don’t have to,” Fernanda said, caught off guard. “I have no reason to go after you. Voligny Company is still yours.”
If there was anyone in the Morgan family she could show kindness to, it was Ector.
