Chapter 984
Chapter 984:
Curran’s mustache twitched slightly as he glanced at Fernanda before rising from the couch. Bobby stepped forward without hesitation, offering his arm for support.
Bobby, dressed just as sharply, was clearly attending the event as well. Inside the car, Curran’s personal assistant took the front passenger seat while Curran sat in the middle. Fernanda and Bobby settled in the back.
“The savior I told you about will be at the art exhibition today,” Bobby murmured to Fernanda. “I’ll make sure to convince her to vouch for you and my cousin.”
“Thanks,” Fernanda said with a smile.
Curran suddenly let out a cough, and Bobby immediately straightened, falling silent.
Forty minutes later, their car rolled to a stop outside an art gallery in downtown Litdence.
The exhibition had been heavily advertised for weeks. Fernanda had come across the promotional materials more than once.
The focus was mainly on watercolor pieces, with only a handful of oil paintings and sketches—naturally attracting a more niche audience. Despite the extensive promotion, the turnout remained modest.
The exhibition took place in a grand, four-story hall. Each floor was dedicated to a different category—masterpieces from the Middle Ages on the first, renowned modern artists on the second, award-winning contemporary and amateur works on the third, and an auction on the fourth.
While the venue wasn’t opulent, the attention to detail was exquisite. The display stands were made of high-quality materials, the seating was upscale, and the…
The modern gallery was tastefully decorated, offering a very pleasant viewing experience.
Fernanda walked alongside Curran as they explored the exhibition, while Bobby, uninterested in the artwork, kept scanning the crowd for someone.
Curran, however, was fully immersed in the paintings. His usual stern demeanor softened as his enthusiasm took over. He became unusually chatty, even setting aside his earlier displeasure with Fernanda. As their conversation deepened, his excitement grew, making their exchange surprisingly lively.

Curran let out a rare laugh, but then suddenly recalled he was supposed to be ignoring Fernanda. His amusement vanished, and he quickly returned to his usual stern demeanor.
Fernanda sighed, rubbing her temples. She knew she had to keep him engaged, steering the conversation so he wouldn’t retreat back into his sulking.
The exhibition itself was stunning. Some genuine masterpieces, on loan from museums, were showcased in glass cases at the center of the hall, adding an air of prestige to the event.
While replicas were often displayed at such events, these authentic pieces were a rarity. A small crowd had gathered around them, murmuring in quiet appreciation.
