"This is insane. It's hopeless now," Mathew muttered, throwing his hands in the air, clearly irritated. He turned toward Martha, his face twisted with frustration. "Aunty, as you can see, I did my best. I called every he's just too arrogant. He doesn't deserve to be saved."

He stepped closer to her, lowering his voice as if Jaden wasn't in the room. "It's bad luck to have a nephew like him around. Trust me. He'll bring nothing but trouble."

Before Martha could respond-

BANG!

The front

door burst open, almost unhinged by the force of the kick. Dust flew off the hinges. A booming voice echoed through the room.

"WHICH ONE OF YOU

HAD THE GUTS TO TELL ME TO KNEEL DOWN OUTSIDE AND APOLOGIZE!?"

Everyone turned sharply toward the door. 1

Mr. Norman stormed in like a thundercloud. Behind him followed Bob, John, his face still bruised For original chapters go to Find★Novel.net

and another large, heavily-

built man wearing shades and a gold chain. The tension in the air was like thick smoke-

unbreathable.

Norman's eyes swept the room like a predator. "I want to see the bastard who gave me that order. Come out now, or I'll kill everyone here one by one!"

Mathew was already trembling. His knees buckled slightly, and he raised

both palms toward Norman.

"Please! It wasn't me. Don't kill me-

I swear!” he whimpered, practically sweating bullets. Then, in desperation, he pointed at Jaden. "I-

It's him! He's the guy who said that!"

All eyes turned to Jaden.

He didn't move. He stayed seated on the couch, casually sipping from a cup of juice like nothing had happened. Then, without raising his voice, he spoke.

"I told you to kneel at the bottom of the stairs... and apologize."

He slowly lowered the cup, setting it down with a quiet clink on the

table. Then locked eyes with Norman.

"Why haven't you done that yet?"

Norman froze.

His mouth opened slightly, but no words came out. His rage melted instantly into cold sweat. Bob's in disbelief. The bravado they walked in with crumbled.

John didn't notice the change. He was still running his mouth.

"You fucking bastard! Still acting tough, huh?” John spat, stepping forward and pointing. “Brother Norman, he's the bastard who insulted you! He made you look like a joke- told you to kneel outside in front of everyone! He should be skinned alive. Please, teach him a less-"

WHAM!

Norman's fist landed square on John's jaw with a sickening crunch. John hit the floor like a sack of bricks.

Everyone gasped.

"Ahh! Brother Norman, what are you doing? It's him! It's that bastard who—"

CRACK!

Norman's foot came down brutally on John's face, silencing him mid- sentence. Blood poured from his nose.

"You idiot!" Norman roared, kicking John again-this time in the ribs. "You stupid fool! You dragged me into this mess? You had me walk in here ready to die?!” fo

Punch after punch landed as John cried out and tried to crawl away, but Norman wasn't done. He grabbed him by the collar and threw him across the floor like trash.

"You dare offend the King? And bring ME into it?! You're finished, John! FINISHED!"

John was coughing up blood, writhing on the floor. His eye had already swollen shut.

Then... realization struck him like lightning.

"K-

King?" he stammered. "He's the King? The one who took down Crusher Kane... the one who broke the boss's arm?!"

He froze in terror.

Immediately, John dropped to his knees. "King... King please forgive me! I-

I was blind! It was Greg! I had no idea ... Please!"

Bob followed suit, falling to his knees without hesitation. "King, we didn't know who we were dealing with. We would've never dared."

Mr. Norman was next.

He didn't hesitate.

Norman knelt down, head bowed low. "King, please. We acted

out of ignorance. We came here to hurt you... not knowing who we were about to offend."

From the black briefcase he carried, he quickly popped it open and turned it around.

"Please, King-this is ten million

dollars. We raised it from all our

contacts in twenty-four hours. Take

it as compensation for what

What

happened yesterday. Just forgive us. We're begging you."

The stacks of money glowed under the ceiling light. 1

Mathew's jaw dropped. "Ten... ten million?!"

His mind spun.

He got paid barely ten thousand a month. It would take him nearly a century to earn this much-if he lived that long. Just who the hell had he been looking down on this entire time?

Jaden stood up.

He walked calmly toward them, stopping just before the brief case.

"You think this is over?” he asked quietly. “I told you to kneel outside. At the bottom of the stairs. For the public to see.”

He took a step closer. "Now go. Do it."
