But in the next moment, Hamilton pushed her into the abyss.

Penelope's anxiety grew. The moment Natalie went inside, she had called Michael and urged him to come over. But even though Michael rushed to the factory, Hamilton had instructed the bodyguards to keep him out, so his presence was useless.

Michael sighed heavily. "Among our group of friends, Hamilton has the worst temper. He doesn't listen to anyone, not even his parents. But if Theodore says something, he'll listen."

Without hesitation, Penelope immediately called Theodore, only to find he had blocked her number.

She had no choice but to ask Michael to make the call. Although Theodore answered, he refused to help.

Michael shrugged. "He said it's Hamilton's private business, and he doesn't want to interfere."

"But someone's life is at stake!"

"It won't go that far. Hamilton's temper is bad, but he wouldn't actually kill anyone."

"No, I have to do something!"

Penelope racked her brain. The only person who could stop Hamilton was Theodore. If he would just help, they could save Natalie and Dylan.

But Theodore refused. What could she do...?

An idea came to her, a desperate one. She had no idea if it would work.

But there was no time left. It was a gamble she had to take.

Having made her decision, she looked around, fixed her eyes on a brick wall, and, gritting her teeth, ran straight into it.

Michael stared in stunned disbelief as Penelope deliberately slammed her head

against the wall. He watched as she staggered back and slid to the ground. Rushing over, he saw that her forehead was split open, with blood pouring out.

"What... what was that all about?"

Had she lost her mind?

Penelope took a deep breath. "Call Theodore again."

"Huh?"

"Tell him that if he refuses to help, I'll... I'll bleed to death!"

"You're threatening Theodore with your life?"

"Just do it! I'm starting to feel dizzy!"

Michael didn't know whether to be speechless or impressed. Either way, she was one loyal friend. Seeing the amount of blood she was losing he didn't dare waste any more time and quickly dialed Theodore.

When he relayed Penelope's threat, a cold laugh came from the other end of the line.

"Heh, she thinks I still care whether she lives or dies?"

Michael quickly passed the message to Penelope. "Theodore says he doesn't care if you live or die."

Penelope gritted her teeth. "Fine, then I'll just die faster! And he can raise Hubert from now on!"

Michael pursed his lips and started to relay the message, but a furious voice cut him off. "My ears aren't broken! I can hear her!"

Michael decided he should help Penelope out. He feigned panic and yelled, "Hey, Penelope, don't pass out! On god, the Blood is spurting everywhere! It's all over the ground!"

Penelope, still sitting steadily, realized Michael was helping her and played along.

"Tell... tell Theodore that after I'm dead... he's not allowed to visit my grave!"

"Huh?"

"Because he let me die... I..... I....."

"Tell her not to worry. I absolutely won't go!"

With that, Theodore hung up. Michael saw Penelope was still acting and showed

her the phone screen.

"Stop acting. He hung up."

Penelope frowned. "So that trick didn't work?"

"Doesn't look like it."

Penelope grew even more frantic. Just as she was considering calling the police Natalie emerged from the factory, supporting Dylan

Michael's eyes widened. So Theodore had called Hamilton.

And he must have done it quickly. Hamilton had let them go immediately. Was he really that afraid Penelope would bleed out?
